Yuno vs. Zenon Zogratis is a fight that occurs in the Spade Kingdom Castle.
Pre-Fight[]
Zenon becomes a Devil
After being mortally wounded by Yuno's Spirit of Euros, Zenon makes a deal with his contracted Devil, Beelzebub. He offers to give Beelzebub his entire being, even his soul, in exchange for a devil's heart, and the Supreme Devil accepts the offer. With a new heart, Zenon's wounds regenerate and is transformed into a devil stronger than ever. With his new power, Zenon completely overpowers Yuno while mocking him for intentionally missing his heart with his previous spell to avoid killing Langris along him, claiming Yuno would have won if he had sacrificed his ally to instantly kill him. Yuno is defeated and sent crashing through a wall into a Grimoire tower, leaving Langris to face Zenon's wrath alone. Before Zenon can kill Langris with bone whips, Finral arrives and teleports his sibling out of their path. The brothers team up to face Zenon with Langris providing offense and Finral handling evasion.[1]
Yuno's True Magic awakens
Zenon observes Finral's teleportation speed and waits for them to them to get close to strike with bone whips. However, Finral uses Mana Method to increase his teleportation speed and catches Zenon off guard by teleporting behind him. Given a clear shot, Langris uses his offensive Spatial Magic to carve through Zenon's upper body. Unfortunately, Langris' magic is unable to destroy Zenon's Devil Heart. Yuno regains consciousness and despairs upon discovering Zenon defeated both brothers. Faced with yet another crushing defeat, for the first time in over a decade, Yuno weeps as he questions if this is how it all ends, lamenting that this seems to be all he was worth, and all the faith he was entrusted with was ultimately in vain. Remembering his vow to Asta, Yuno regains the will to fight and has a vision of the spirit of Licht and Tetia's son. The spirit introduces itself as a part of Yuno but asserts that Yuno has his own strength as well. A Spade Grimoire emerges from the tower and presents itself to Yuno, giving him a new magic. Yuno stands up and asserts his vows to save his captain, save the Spade Kingdom, and become the Wizard King.[2]
Fight[]
Zenon is surprised that Yuno has two Grimoires, but a beam of light shoots through the side of his face and the bone whips impaling Finral and Langris before he can finish his thought. When he sees the source of the attack was a magic star created by Yuno, Zenon realizes that Yuno is the heir to House Grinberryall and has obtained Star Magic from his family's royal lineage. Yuno reenters Spirit Dive and transports Finral and Langris to safety before facing Zenon for the third time. With his new magic, Yuno is able to block Zenon's bone whips with Quartile Scutum. Zenon tries to trap Yuno with a spatial magic cube, but the latter is able to escape using Conjunction to teleport between stars and counterattacks by using Quartile Hasta to destroy Zenon's right shoulder. Yuno declares he will prove his choice weren't wrong and an infuriated Zenon proclaims his desire to crush Yuno before unleashing a ferocious assault of bone spikes that devastate the area. The two collide with swords, fighting to prove themselves right by winning.[3]
The victor of ideologies
The force of their collision repels both mages and Yuno teleports away before Zeno can skewer him with a bone spike. He then uses Quartile Flagellum, to slice through Zenon's body, but it is unable to destroy his Devil Heart. Zenon regenerates and retaliates by combining his Spatial and Bone Magic to create Demon Sword Dansleif. With his new weapon, Zenon uses Spatial Rupture to cut apart his surroundings with slashes of offensive Spatial Magic, managing to destroy some of Yuno's stars. Realizing he can't regenerate stars quickly, Yuno switches to Wind Magic and gets in close to attack with Spirit of Boreas. The halberd collides with Zenon's demon sword, resulting Zenon's chest being ripped apart by Yuno's spell, and Yuno having his weapon and his remaining stars destroyed. With Yuno out of stars, Zenon believes he's won and pierces him from behind with bone spikes coming out of spatial portals. However, the intense life-threatening battle has allowed Yuno to achieve near 100% resonance with Slyph and reach Saint Stage. With the new power from Saint Stage, Yuno is able to generate a new star and teleport behind Zenon before the latter could finish him off with his sword. He then slices through Zenon's Devil Heart with Saint Spirit of Zephyr.[4]
Post-Fight[]
As his Devil features disintegrate, Zenon thinks about how he sensed the similarity between him and Yuno asks the latter why they walked diverging paths. Yuno answers that he doesn't know because he hasn't fulfilled his vow with Asta yet. In his last moments, Zenon remembers his friendship and rivalry with Allen Fiarain. [5] With Zenon's death along with the rest of the Dark Triad, the Qliphoth Ritual loses its activators, but Moris Libadirt takes over that role using his magic and continues the ritual.[6]
