Trap Magicトラップ魔法 Torappu Mahō」 is a form of magic that allows the user to create and set magical traps.[1]

DescriptionEdit

This form of magic allows the user to create and set magical traps. The user draws a magic circle, pours mana into it, and places it in the path of a person or object. The more complicated a trap is, the more time it takes to draw. Similarly, more powerful traps require more mana.[2] Most often they are placed on surfaces, such as floors and walls, but they can also be placed in midair.[3]

Once the magic circles are drawn and placed, they are invisible to everyone but the user until activated.[4] However, magic sensors can locate traps,[5][6] and the traps' locations could be magically shared with allies.[7]

Traps can be set to have a variety of effects, reacting to direct contact or proximity.[5][8] Three basic types of traps are binding, pitfall, and land mine traps.[2]

A more complex type of trap is the counter trap, which absorbs an incoming spell, copies it, and sends it back with twice the power and speed.[9] The copy even duplicates the magic attribute and special properties of the spell.[10] A spell of significant power could overwhelm and break a counter trap.[11]
