House Vermillion 「ヴァーミリオン家 Vāmirion-ke」 is one of the royal families of the Clover Kingdom.[1]
Overview[]
As royals, the family lives in the Vermillion Estate of Clover Castle.[2]
Members of the family are exempt from the Magic Knights Entrance Exam and are automatically accepted into the Crimson Lion squad of the Magic Knights. They are free to pick another squad to join if they wish. Kirsch joins the Coral Peacocks because he likes their beautiful robes and does not like the hot-blooded Crimson Lions, while Mimosa joins the Golden Dawns because she does not want to rely on her family background.[3] Mereoleona initially refuses to join the Magic Knights at all[4] and turns down an offer to be the captain.[5] She later takes over as captain in order to exact revenge for the Eye of the Midnight Sun's attempt on Fuegoleon's life.[6][7]
There is a tradition within the family of marking their foreheads as a sign of a personal oath to become king. Both Fuegoleon and Leopold have taken this oath and marked their foreheads.[8]
