Hino Country 「日ノ国 Hino Kuni」 is the distant homeland of Yami Sukehiro.[1] It is currently ruled by Shogun Ryuya Ryudo.[2]
Description[]
In spite of the country's name referencing the sun, the sky always has a partial layer of clouds,[3] originating from the five-headed dragon's magic power seeping into the air. Following the dragon's death and Asta's Anti Magic Zetten, the skies over the country have cleared.[4]
Culture[]
Scrolls and yojutsu
Hino Country has a language very different from the Clover Kingdom;[5] Hino's words for magic and magic power are "yojutsu" 「妖術 yōjutsu」 and "yoryoku" 「妖力 yōryoku」, respectively. Instead of grimoires, the citizens use scrolls, which unfurl to reveal writing that manifest spells.[6] Hino's script is also in Japanese,[2] whereas Clover's resembles Latin script.[7][8]
Additionally, the citizens' names are in reverse order of Clover's: family name, given name as opposed to given name, family name.[9] This led to confusion with Yami Sukehiro's name in the Clover Kingdom, where his family name is used as his given name.[10]
The country also has a unique style of sword, known as a katana,[1] and ki is a well-known concept in the country.[11]

- Hino Country is inspired by Japan 「日本国 Nippon-koku」, or the "Land of the Rising Sun".
- Items and icons around the country bear an uncanny resemblance to Charmy Pappitson, including the Ocha-ami Doll,[12] a figurine that Komari Imari carries,[13] and a stone statue.[14]
