Fanzel Kruger 「ファンゼル・クルーガー Fanzeru Kurūgā」 is the former Commander-in-Chief of the Diamond Kingdom's military.[1] After fleeing the kingdom, he now lives together with his lover Domina Code and his student Mariella.
Appearance
Fanzel is a middle-aged man of average height with medium length messy red hair, blue eyes and a stubbled beard.
His attire consists of a white long sleeved shirt, blue pants, brown boots and a green coat.
Personality
Fanzel seems to be an easy going man with a habit of being undressed in front of people.[2] He is also caring of his comrades as he offered to help aid Asta to the Witches' Forest, despite Domina's warning of it being dangerous, stating that he could not just leave him dry like that.[3]

Abilities
- Master Swordsman: Fanzel is a magic swordsman,[9] who was a instructor during his time as Commander-in-Chief of the Diamond Kingdom's military,[10] making him a very powerful adversary. He is highly proficient in swordsmanship; he easily slices through Radols' magic attack,[11] and effortlessly defeats many mages of the Diamond Kingdom's army led by Mars and Radols that invaded the Witches' Forest.[12] He also has mentored Asta in swordsmanship.[4]

- Grimoire: Fanzel wields a grimoire which contains wind-based spells that he can use during combat.[9]
- Broadsword: Fanzel uses a broadsword in combat.[13]

Domina Code
Domina Code is Fanzel's lover and fellow fugitive from the Diamond Kingdom.[1]
Mariella
Mariella is an assassin sent to bring back Fanzel after he fled the Diamond Kingdom, but after Asta convinces her to change her way of living, she has now become Fanzel's student.[4]
Asta
Asta helps Fanzel when he fled from the Diamond Kingdom and has learned swordsmanship from him.[4]
