"Final Battle" 「"最後の戦い" "Saiko no Tatakai"」 is the 40th chapter of Tashiro Yumiya's Black Clover Side-Story: Quartet Knights.
Summary[]
Freese says that he has been waiting for this moment to come for a long time, for the traitor nobles of this Freese and the citizens of the Clover Kingdom for them to be gone. Charlotte Roselei and Nozel Silva notice that the mana from the strong magic regions have been gathered at the Royal Capital. As the mana from the strong magic regions destroy the barrier, Marx Francois tells Julius Novachrono what has happened and worries about the Royal Capital which Julius confirms it. Julius thinks about how the barrier is destroyed, but this has also reduced the amount of mana near the strong magic regions.
As the brainwashed Magic Knights attack another spot next, Asta wonders what is going on. Noelle Silva notices that the mana from the strong magic regions is combining with the Magic Knights. Noelle also thinks about how that mana has broken through the barrier but has also disappeared, and how its repulsing and offsetting. King Augustus Kira Clover XIII wonders what is happening, and bets that Julius is alright even now. As the mana disappears, Marx comments about how the mana is gone. Julius says that the troublesome mana and their barrier is gone, and that the only thing left is close combat.
As the brainwashed Magic Knights enter the Royal Capital, Jack the Ripper comments about they have came and that its worth tearing them apart while attacking with his Death Scythe spell. Jack tells them to watch him slash them apart, to which Nozel responds that Jack has no elegance at all. Charlotte says that they unleash their full power, since they cannot lose and both of them attack the brainwashed Magic Knights. Nebra Silva comments about how they expect this from Nozel, while Solid says that they will follow right behind him. Sol Marron tells the Blue Rose squad to wake up and protect Charlotte. Yuno attacks the brainwashed Magic Knights with his Tornado Fang spell and says that nobody is allowed to go through from here.
Asta comments about how amazing Yuno is since he can feel the air moving, while Yami Sukehiro says that is seems like the real battle has just started. Yami tells Asta that this is probably the final battle, and that he is not whining but they have got to make up their minds now that they have come this far. Yami says that he is going to surpass his limits and he will defeat Freese, which Asta thinks about Captain Yami. Asta smiles and agrees with him. The two arrive at Freese's location, and Asta says that they are going to wrap everything up right here and now.
