Summary[]
The Magic Knights manage to destroy the Lucius clones and their victory is broadcast around the capital. However, magic suddenly begins pouring out from the grimoire towers into Lucius' Palace. Inside the palace, another Lucius with a new form emerges from the floor and the one Asta and Yuno just destroyed is revealed to have been another clone. The real Lucius admits that even though it took much work to create his clones, they succeeded in buying him time to link all of the Grimoire towers in the kingdom with a massive spell. He then reveals that Grimoire towers have existed since the beginning of humanity and describes grimoires as wisdom granted by gods that amplify humanity's natural affinity for magic. Lucius continues that when a mage dies, their grimoire returns to the tower they originally came from and by connecting to the towers, he can harness every spell stored in them.
Lucius unleashes several new magic attributes that blows a hole into a palace and demonstrates his new power by teleporting, Gueldre Poizot, Revchi Salik, Marx Francois to him and immediately killing them. With their deaths, their grimoire's return to the towers and Lucius is able to use Revchi's magic sealing chain spell on Yuno. Asta frees Yuno and Lucius begins magically broadcasting their battle to the populace.
In Hino Country, Ryuya Ryudo observes the battle with his Tengentsu and has Fujio Tenmanyashiki send a message to Asta using his Sound Magic. Ryuya's message informs Asta that Lucius is still wary of his Anti Magic and his weak point is the crystal of his chest where his magic is concentrating. As Asta battles Lucius, the latter goes in to kill Asta with a sword and assures the former that he will resurrect him when he dies and give him magic, but his attack is blocked by Yuno and Asta seizes the moment to slash the crystal in Lucius' chest. However, Lucius instantly revives Richita to use as a shield, leaving Ryuya horrified Lucius had such an underhanded trick in reserve. Liebe, unable to attack his mother no matter the circumstances, dispels Unite, allowing Lucius to slash him and Asta.
