Cooking Showdown!? 「料理対決!? Ryōri Taiketsu!?」 is the 36th chapter of Tashiro Yumiya's Black Clover Side-Story: Quartet Knights.

Summary

In a room with tables full of food, Asta asks what is going on. Charmy Pappitson explains that the room is the palace's great dining hall, where food from all over the kingdom is gathered; and that to prepare for tomorrow's fateful battle against Freese and the Eye of the Midnight Sun, that they should raise everyone's morale, in both body and spirit. Charmy believes that the way to foster a stronger sense of unity will be by cooking together, but everyone else thinks that reasoning is forced.

Charmy explains the rules: they will be divided into teams of three, make their favorite food, then she and Julius Novachrono will judge the food and the best dish will be the winner. Marx Francois questions if there's time for this, but Julius says it seems like fun. Nozel Silva thinks it's foolish, but Jack the Ripper is fine with it. Noelle Silva thinks about cooking with Asta, while Mimosa Vermillion comments that her wounds have just healed, and Yuno is confused by it all (but Sylph wants to try his cooking).

The teams will be: Yuno, Asta and Yami Sukehiro; Noelle, Mimosa and Vanessa Enoteca; and Jack, Charlotte Roselei and Nozel. Charmy then demands they make it quickly and let her eat it all. Klaus Lunettes comments this is absurd, but Luck Voltia thinks it seems fun. William Vangeance excuses himself, and tells Yami that he'll see him later. As William leaves, Yami wonders if he has met him before. Asta asks Yuno if he knows how to cook; Yuno says he is better than Asta. Noelle worries about being in a cooking battle against Nozel and on a different team than Asta; Mimosa wishes she were on the same team as Asta; and Vanessa wonders if she can cook while drinking. Nozel thinks it's ridiculous and excuses himself as well, but Charmy tells him to wait and informs them that the winning team will be granted one wish from the Wizard King. Marx exclaims that they did not decide on that, but Julius chuckles and says it would be nice to raise everyone's morale (and wants to see how everyone uses their magic to cook).

Suddenly, everyone announces they're in. Charlotte's wish is for Yami to join her squad; Nozel wants even more favorable treatment of his squad; Mimosa wants Asta to join her squad; and Asta just wants more muscle training equipment. All declare that they will not lose. Finral stands shocked that this is proceeding at all.
