Summary

Asta flies around the five-headed dragon and manages to slice through two of its heads with Zetten. However, even though his Anti Magic is easily able to cut the dragon, it can't stop it from regenerating.

Meanwhile Yosuga Musyogatake is still fighting Heath Graice and easily endures his powerful Ice Magic. Heath declares he will win for the sake of the world Lucius Zogratis will create and Yosuga in turn declares he will win for the sake of Ryuya Ryudo. In the past, Yosuga was the heir to the Koshu territory and the strongest mage around. Ryuya, the heir to Goshu, was the only person who could match his strength and the two had a friendly rivalry competing for the title of shogun. When they were 17, a plague struck their territories that started to kill those with weak yoryoku in droves. The only cure to the plague was a rare and possibly extinct herb called Soul Quickening Grass, but the only way to find the herb was with the Tengentsu. As they were the only ones with enough yoryoku, both Ryuya and Yosuga were called upon to try and acquire the Tengentsu; however, the price for acquiring the eye would be permanently losing their yoryoku. Yosuga was unwilling to sacrifice his magic, even if meant those with weak Yoryoku died, but Ryuya accepted without hesitation. After acquiring the Tengentsu, Ryuya found the Soul Quickening Grass and stopped the plague. Yosuga was initially mad at Ryuya for giving up on their rivalry, but Ryuya continued his goal of helping their country even without magic and achieved great feats and popularity. When it was time for the new shogun to be selected, Yosuga was nominated because Ryuya lacked magic. Instead, Yosuga acknowledged Ryuya's efforts and nominated him for Shogun while he became a member of the Ryuzen Seven.

Back in the present, Yosuga powers through Heath's ice with his Iron Magic and defeats the Paladin with Zetten. On the rooftop of the regional lord's palace, Ryuya rallies the Ryuzen Seven to help Asta slay the five-headed dragon.
