Powerless 「無力 Muryoku」 is the 32nd chapter of Tashiro Yumiya's Black Clover Side-Story: Quartet Knights.
Summary[]
Freese fires a large blast of magic at Yami who cannot move, and Asta and Yuno who are unconscious. Suddenly Klaus appears in front of Yami and creates Steel Castle's Armored Wall to block the blast. Yami tells Klaus to run, but Klaus refuses and explains that he will protect them because he vaguely remembers attacking Asta and his comrades while controlled. The other Golden Dawn members gather around the wounded as Klaus holds his ground. Annoyed that Klaus broke free of his control, Freese's magic manages to break through the steel wall and throws Klaus back.
Freese laughs as he looks at the crater left behind. He muses that they were more trouble than expected, but now there will be no one in his way. Freese wavers from using too much power, and realizes he would've run out had the fight gone on for longer. Freese then leaves while thinking about how preparations are complete and all that's left now is to wait for the crimson moon.
Moments later, the Magic Knights emerge from a hole they hid in that was dug while Klaus was fending off Freese's attack. One of the Golden Dawn turns as he hears Asta mumble about protecting everyone despite having lost consciousness. That Magic Knight tells the others they should take them to the capital for treatment, and acknowledges that they would have been defeated quickly if not for them. Nonetheless, they also express frustration at being unable to protect the stone tablet, but take some solace in the fact that other squads are facing the same elsewhere and hope they fared better.
At the Royal Capital, Marx bursts into Julius's office shouting that there is an emergency. Julius, wearing a hooded cloak, tells Marx that he should have knocked first. Marx scolds him about sneaking off to the castle town in disguise, then dismisses Julius's excuse about checking the state of the kingdom, and tells him that the Magic Knights have contacted them about the destruction of the Stone Tablets. Julius acknowledges that it was to be expected to some extent considering the enemy's power, then asks Marx which of the Stone Tablets was destroyed. Marx replies that it was all of them. Julius says "that time" is approaching; they must enter the last stage of defense.
