Summary

As Team E are chowing down on some food, Noelle notices some cotton and Charmy suddenly appears with Nero. Charmy asks Jamon if she can have some of that delicious food, which Jamon agrees to and gives her some. As Charmy is eating, Noelle asks what Charmy if doing here which Charmy replies that she came to cheer on the person she likes.

As they announce that the fifth match is about to begin, Asta wonders who the last member of Team I is. As the rest of Team I wonder who the mysterious x person is since they have not meet them, when a person suddenly starts to laugh. As Asta wonder who this person is, the guy says that he is the mysterious x and reveals that he is the Azure Deer captain Lil Bowamoltie. As some of the participants are shocked by this, some of the others say that a captain can't participate in the exam. As Lil is shocked to hear this, Julius announces that a captain can join the exam since this is their chance to defeat a captain but thinks about how he will be able to see Lil's magic. The participants talk about how they might be able to defeat Lil because of how the exam works.

Lil says that he won't go down easily since he will increase the reputation of his squad since they came in last in the previous term, which an old man suddenly appears and comments Lil for his words. With an scary looking face, the old man tells the participants to look after Lil which Asta thinks about how the old man is not old face but scary. As Lil greets Asta and comments about them having a good match which Asta also agrees too, which the old man gives Asta some tea while also thanking Asta for being friends with Lil. The old man also reveals that he is Lil's butler and introduces himself as Walter. As Asta takes a sip of the tea, Asta realized that he doesn't get the taste since it too high class for him. As Walter begins to talk about Lil having a friend, Lil tells him to stop talking about old stuff. As Lil decides to get ready for the fight, he announces that he will create a masterpiece.

As the fifth match begins, Team J worries about the ability of Lil but are stunned when he is caught in their trap. As two members of Team J talk about how Lil was caught, the third tells them to not let their guard down and that the match will be their if they take him out. As one member of Team J uses a spell to increase his teammates power, the other two launch spell at Lil. As Lil sees the spell coming towards him, Lil thinks about how fantastic the battlefield is and how he feels inspiration coming forth. As Walter watches the battle, he thinks about how Lil locked himself in his room after he had gotten him grimoire. Walter also remembers when he had snapped Lil back to his sense, after being heavily wondered. Afterwards Walter explains to Lil how people don't understand him and that Lil should join the magic knights if he wants to create his greatest masterpiece. In the battle Lil thinks about how this canvas is fantastic and he wants Walter to see his masterpiece since it was Walter who made him human. As Walter thinks about how Lil's magic can generate any element, Lil uses a spell to counter the two spell launched at him. As Asta and the other participants are shocked that Lil was able to counter the spell with two different elements at the same spell. Walter compliments Lil and thinks about how the stronger the foe is the more inspiration Lil have along with how Lil's imagination and creation are infinite. Lil tells Team J that they were good but he will need a little more to create his masterpiece.
