Black Bulls vs. Damnatio Kira is a fight that takes place in the Witches' Forest.
Pre-Fight[]
In their search for Asta, the Black Bulls go the Witches' Forest to ask the Witch Queen for help, who reveals that Asta is indeed alive and stuck on another continent. Dorothy Unsworth suddenly arrives and proposes she, the Queen, and Vanessa Enoteca combine their power to create a massive compound spell: Door of Fate, to bring Asta back.[1] However, Lucius Zogratis foresaw this attempt and sends Damnatio Kira, transformed into a Paladin, and several Guardian Angels to attack with Witches' forest and prevent the ritual in case Asta survived their previous battle. The Witches and the forest's defense golems act to stop Damnatio, but the Paladin uses Scale Dominate to negate their spells. After overpowering the defenses, Damnatio has the Guardian Angels fire a combined magic beam at the ritual site, but it is reflected back by a Trap and Mirror magic spell. Several of the Black Bulls then emerge from the ritual site to keep Damnatio from interfering.[2]
Fight[]
The Black Bulls charge into battle to buy time for Finral Roulacase to reach Asta, with Gordon Agrippa and Henry Legolant sealing Damnatio's Scale Dominate by draining his magic. Damnatio then creates a magic sword he uses to slash apart the Raging Black Bull. Despite being injured, Gordon and Henry, aided by Grey, continue to drain Damnatio's magic while Nacht Faust creates shadow clones and attacks the Guardian Angels defending Damnatio along with Charmy Pappitson, Secre Swallowtail, Magna Swing, and Luck Voltia. Magna and Luck get injured from the Guardian Angels' lasers and Nacht and Zora are slashed through when they try to attack Damnatio, but their injuries are immediately restored by mirror copies of Grey made by Gauche Adlai and their resume their suicide charges. Damnatio realizes the lynchpin of their strategy is Grey's healing and finds her real self hiding inside one of Charmy's Sheep Cooks. Gauche attempts to save Grey with Mirrors Shift but fails to save her before Damnatio slices through them both, mortally wounding them. This ends the Black Bulls' support and Damnatio destroys all their spells. However, Secre uses her Sealing Magic to close everyone's wounds and allow the still conscious members to keep fighting.[3]
Charmy activates her Food Magic and consumes the Guardian Angels' attacks, while Nacht orders Secre, Henry, and Gordon to stay behind. Nacht helps Charmy destroy the remaining Guardian Angels with Canis x Equus and the Black Bulls press the attack against Damnatio. Realizing the squad's efforts are stalling him, Damnatio resorts to his second magic attribute, Atmosphere Magic. With his new magic, Damnatio defeats Charmy, Zora, and Nacht with invisible air slashes. Luck pulls Magna to Damnatio so the latter can use Soul Chain Deathmatch, but Damnatio stabs Luck and deflects Magna's spell before it can take effect. Secre, Henry, and Gordon desperately attempt to crash the Mini Bull into Damnatio, only for him to destroy it with his sword and send them crashing into the ritual site. Damnatio immediate incapacitates all the witches with his Atmosphere Magic. With no one left to fight, Secre cries out for Asta, but the Black Bulls efforts were not in vain as Asta emerges from the Door of Fate.[4]
Asta faces Damnatio alone and draws Demon-Destroyer Sword. Since Scale Magic is useless against someone with no magic, Damnatio tries to attack with Atmosphere Magic, but Asta creates a barrier of Anti Magic that neutralizes it. Damnatio resorts to physical combat and flies towards Asta to attack with his sword, demanding he die for the sake of Lucius' order. However, Asta rejects his words and defeats Damnatio with a Zetten counterattack.[5]
Post-Fight[]
Asta's Anti Magic reverts Damnatio back to human, and the latter ponders how he was saved by the very people he tried to condemn before falling comatose. The Witch Queen then uses her Blood Magic to heal the Black Bulls, who survived thanks to Secre's magic. Once they are healed, Asta unveils a new technique which allows him to share Anti Magic with others and the Black Bulls go to join the Judgement Day battle at the Royal Capital.[6]
