Baval 「バヴァル Bavaru」 is an elf and is reincarnated into the body of David Swallow.[1]
Appearance
While possessing David, two tattoos appear on his forehead and his ears become pointed.[2]
Personality
Like the other elves, Baval expresses hatred for humans and nobles.[3] However he seems to hold the rage in better than the other elves as he starts up a conversation with the royals he encounters instead of instantly attacking them and leaves without trying to kill them at all.
Biography
After the Licht and Tetia's wedding, the Elf Tribe is massacred by humans.[4][5][6]
Centuries later, Patolli sets the last magic stone in the sephirot, and Baval possesses David, a member of the Golden Dawn squad. He gathers with the other possessed Golden Dawns in the squad's base, and they then leave together and meet up with Ratri, who has possessed Langris Vaude.[7]
Ratri leads the group to Clover Castle.[8] The Magic Knights guarding the gate refuse them entry, so Ratri carves a path through the gate. Kivn orders four elves to stay behind and fight the Knights, while the rest of the elves then split up, with Baval heading to the left section, the Vermillion estate.[9]
A short time later, Kirsch Vermillion, Mimosa Vermillion, and En Ringard block the elves' senses and distract them while locating and evacuating the humans. Baval manages to locate the three Knights. He asks them to give up since the elves are more powerful and are gathering in the castle. When Mimosa refuses, Baval warns them about Ratri going after King Augustus Kira Clover XIII.[10] After the Shadow Palace is summoned, Baval explains the elves' plan for their human hosts and uses his Dice Magic to repel the swarm of cherry blossoms. He then runs off to the floating dungeon.[11]
Baval then flies into the Shadow Palace. Once inside, he is knocked unconscious and later found by Mimosa and Asta.[12]

- Dice Magic: Baval uses this magic attribute to manifest dice that generate power in proportion to the number of pips rolled.[13]
Abilities
- Immense Magic Power: As an elf, Baval possesses an immense amount of magic power.[14] He can even counter the magic of a royal vice-captain with a low dice roll.[13]
