The Elf Reincarnation Arc 「エルフ転生編 Erufu Tensei-hen」 is the 8th arc of Yūki Tabata's Black Clover.[1]
Synopsis[]
Reincarnation of the Elf Tribe[]
Noelle wonders what is happening to Luck and Ben, which Kirsch recognizes that Luck and Ben have the same kind of sinister mana as Langris.[2] Ben and Luck hug each other while saying that they have finally been revived. Luck volunteers to handle things, which Noelle wonders what Luck is saying. Luck fires a bolt at Noelle, but only grazes Noelle. Kirsch quickly creates a barrier made of cherry blossoms and tells Noelle to prepare for battle. Noelle also creates a barrier, but Luck breaks through both barriers. As Kirsch and Noelle wonders what has happened to Luck and Ben, Luck notices that both Noelle and Kirsch are royalty from their mana.
Elsewhere, Zora thinks about how Rhya now has a ridiculous amount of mana. Rhya comments about how Asta was telling the truth about wanting to find a peaceful solution, while thinking about the results of the last time he trusted a human. Rhya then says that he will kill them, and fires two spells at the trio. Mereoleona counters the spells, and tells Asta that he cannot get through to them. Asta replies that he will create a path so that they can understand each other.[3] Mereoleona agrees with Asta, but also says that if he drags his feet then she will defeat them all herself. Mereoleona then attacks Rhya, but he easily dodges them by using Spatial Magic and light magic. Rhya also using the two magics to attack both Mereoleona and Asta. As Zora wonders what to do against Rhya, Rill comes crashing into the room with a creature that he created. As Rill is glad to see Rhya, Asta asks why he is friendly with the enemy. Rill asks who Asta is, and also introduces himself as Lira.[4] Both Zora and Mereoleona thinks about how Rill is in similar to Rhya and that a spell is affecting Rill. As Asta tells Lira that they are friends, Lira replies that he will never be friends with a human.
Lira attacks Zora, Asta, and Mereoleona, but the three easily counters it. Zora tells Asta to attack Lira with his Anti Magic sword, which Rhya says that that will not effect them. Zora then activates a spell that paralyzes both Lira and Rhya. Lira comments about how they can still sense mana, which Zora replies that they are facing someone with no magic power. Asta destroys Lira's creature while covering himself with Anti Magic. Asta then attacks Lira but barely hit him, when Lira manages to escape. As Lira complains how it hurts, both Asta and Zora thinks about how the Anti Magic did not work. Rhya explains how Reincarnation Magic works and how the bodies they use are now their objects.[5] Suddenly three more elves appear, which they tell Lira to stop screwing around. As Zora notices their magic power, and says that they have to retreat. Asta says that they cannot just leave, which Zora replies that right now they have no way to save their comrades. As Rhya and Lira prepare to attack, Mereoleona breaks a wall to outside of the base. Mereoleona then tosses Zora and Asta through the hole, while Rhya and Lira launches their attacks. Mereoleona then counters the spells and easily destroys them. Rhya comments about how Mereoleona sacrifices herself to let her comrades escape, which Mereoleona replies that they are misunderstanding something. Mereoleona also says that the two would just get in the way, since she will kill them all. Rhya comments about the difference in their abilities, and how he will be heading out to go after Asta.
Mereoleona attacks Rhya, which Rhya uses Spatial Magic to dodge the attack. Mereoleona then tells the elves that they will have to defeat her first in order to head out after Asta. Rhya replies that they will just have to settle this shortly. Outside of the room, Asta comments about how they have to head back and help Mereoleona. Zora tells Asta that they have to retreat, which Asta says that they have to help Mereoloena. Zora tells Asta that they will just die if they head back, and that they should not let the captain's resolve go to waste.[6]
At the fight, Puli gives Rhya some wings with a spell. Puli then comments about how Mereoleona's attack will not reach them since the elves all share a bond. Puli launches a spell at Mereoleona, which Mereoleona counters the spell. Lira attacks with a large spell that Mereoleona cannot burn it away, which Mereoleona starts to attack it. Rhya uses a Spatial Magic to warp the spell, and hit Mereoleona. Mereoleona lands on the ground, and thinks about how her attack are growing weaker and her reaction time are slowing down. Mereoleona notices Fragil, who is using a spell in order to put Mereoleona to sleep. Suddenly Ruben comes in with a large amount of sand, which Mereoleona comments about how he has a lot of nerve and attacks the sand. Ruben comments about how his name is Rossa and traps Mereoleona with the sand that she destroyed. Mereoleona easily breaks out, and prepares to kill Rossa as the captain of the Crimson Lions. Rhya suddenly appears wounds Mereoleona, since he will not let anymore if his comrades die. Puli then attacks with a spell, while Rhya bids Mereoleona farewell. Rhya is suddenly attacked, but manages to block it. Rhya wonders if Mereoleona is truly human, while Mereoleona tells the elves to try to kill her since she is human.[7]
As Mereoleona goes to attack, she is blocked and hit to the ground. Rhya compliments Mereoloena and says that they should end this now. Mereoleona agrees and uses her ultimate spell to incinerate the entire room.[8] The elves manage to survive, and Rhya comments about how Mereoleona refused to admit defeat and lost conscious while standing up. Mereoleona wakes up and tells the elves to finish her off. The elves decides to finish Mereoleona off with a combine spell from each of them. As the elves prepare to launch the spell, suddenly Asta and Zora return to the room. Rhya comments about how that was a useless move, and launches that spell at Mereoleona. Zora thinks about how Asta convinced him to return to the room, and how they will reflect the elves spell back in order to create an opening in order to escape. Zora thinks about how all five elves had launched a spell together, and absorbs the spell. Zora reflects the spell towards Asta, which Asta uses his sword to reflect it back to Zora. As Zora absorbs the spell again, he notices that his trap spell is breaking apart. Asta gets behind the spell and uses his sword to reflect it back at the elves. As the spell hits the wall behind the elves, Asta uses the chance to grab Mereoleona and leave with Zora.[9] As Asta and Zora talk about how they were able to escape, Rhya suddenly appears. As Rhya grabs Asta, Asta gives Mereoleona to Zora, and lets himself be captured by Rhya.[10]
Elsewhere the elves manages to capture Mimosa, which Mimosa wonders what has happened to her comrades. As the elves talk about how Yuno has not fully reincarnated, when Asta is suddenly dropped into the room by Rhya. Asta notices Mimosa and plans to free her, but Klaus informs him that they would let him free Mimosa. Asta sees what happened with Klaus, Hamon, and Yuno, which Klaus and Hamon launch an attack at Asta. Asta tries to block the attack, but is still wounded. Rhya comments about how Asta can kill himself since they will get his grimoire and sword, while Klaus and Hamon prepares an to attack. Asta says that he will not die since he will become the Wizard King, which Yuno reacts to this. Suddenly Yuno destroys Klaus and Hamon's attack, and announces that he will be the one that will become the Wizard King.[11]
As Asta asks if Yuno is himself, which the elves say that Yuno is one of their comrades and that he will be joining them. Rhya sees what it happening and thinks about how it will take some more time for Licht and the elf within Yuno to awaken. Yuno says that he understand what is happening and that he is not one of their comrades but the Magic Knight Yuno.[12] The elves decide to take out Mimosa and Asta in order to awaken the elf inside of Yuno's body, but Yuno easily blocks the spells. Yuno tells the elves to get out of his comrades bodies, but the elves reply that they will use their full strength from now on. Yuno tells Asta to rest since he will handle it, but Asta replies that will not let Yuno handle this alone. The elves combine their magic to use a powerful spell and charge at Asta and Yuno. Asta and Yuno enter their form and easily destroy the elves powerful spell.[13]
As Mimosa and Rhya are shocked with Asta and Yuno winning against the elves. the real Licht notices this and catches the defeated elves. Licht then takes out a sword to prepare for battle, which Asta prepares by taking out his second sword. Licht closes the distance and takes Asta's Demon-Dweller Sword.[14] Licht attacks and easily manages to send both Asta and Yuno flying into the wall. As Asta wonders why Licht was able to use his sword, Yuno attacks with a spell. Licht absorbs the spell with his sword and fires it back, but misses both Yuno and Asta. Licht continues to attack Yuno but Yuno dodges and uses mana zone to attack Licht from behind. Licht easily absorbs that spell too, but both Asta and Yuno use this chance to attack at the same time. Licht manages to block both their attacks but loses one of his sword to Asta in the progress. Licht then fires a blast, which launches Asta, Yuno, and Mimosa out of the base.[15] As Rhya comments about how Licht may have destroyed the grimoire and swords, Licht replies that they are no longer his. Suddenly Ado shows up and uses his Spatial Magic to teleport the other elves to the central room. Once all the elves arrive at the central room, they move the base to meet their other comrades and destroy the humans.
Outside of the base, Asta wakes up and wonders what had happened to the dungeon. Zora informs Asta what had happened to the dungeon. Asta then asks about Mereoleona, which he notices that she is still unconscious. Nozel and En show up and explains what happened to their comrades along with how they managed to escape. Nozel thinks about Asta helped save Mereoleona, and uses an artifact to heal all the wounded. Suddenly Noelle and Kirsch come down from above, and explains what had happened. Nozel is contacted by his squad and told what is happening to the kingdom. Nozel says that they have to save the kingdom even if they have to kill their comrades in the process. Noelle counters by says that their friend had let them escape, and that as Magic Knights they will save their kingdom and comrades. The rest of the Royal Knights they depart to go rescue their kingdom and comrades.
Saving the Kingdom[]
As the villagers of Hage wonder what is going on, the Eye of the Midnight Sun's base flies over the village. As the villagers wonder what that was, which an elf explains how those was his brotheren and what they are doing. The elf then comments about how selfish the humans are for still discriminating against one another. The elf also says that they will not discriminate since they will kill all the humans equally.[16]
As the Royal Knights make their way to the kingdom, all of the wounded are finally healed. Zora says that they will be reaching the forsaken realm soon, when they notice that the elves have already begun their attack. Asta and Yuno notice that it is their village that is being attacked and say that they have to go save it, but Nozel says that they to head to the capital in order to save the kingdom. Asta says that Hage is a part of the kingdom, which Nozel replies by saying that they can save the village on their own but they will have to head to the capital once they are finished. Asta and Yuno agree to this, which Noelle says that she will be going with them. Nozel tells Noelle that she is coming with him to protect the capital since she is royalty, which Noelle understands.
In Hage, the elf attacks the villagers by poisoning them. Lily attacks the elf with a spell, and asks why the elf is doing this to the villagers. Lily also asks why the villagers have to have sad endings when they have tried so hard to live an earnest life. The elf just blames the humans and attacks, which Nash jumps in front of Lily. Asta and Yuno suddenly appear and blocks the elf's attack to everyone's surprise. Asta and Yuno tells Nash that he had fought well, and also say that they will handle it from here.[17] As the elf compliments Asta and Yuno for being able to destroy his attack, but launches another attack and asks if they can handle it. Asta and Yuno easily counter the attack, which shocks everyone.
Asta overhears that the father is hurt and leave to go help, while Yuno deals with the elf. Asta uses the Demon-Slayer Sword to remove the magic from the father but the poison is still in his body. The father notices Asta and comments about how it is good to see him in his final moments, which Asta replies that the father is not going to die just yet. Suddenly the sword that Asta had gotten from Licht appears from his grimoire. Asta takes the sword and the sword removes all of the poison from the people.[18]
The elf notices what sword Asta is using, but Yuno takes this time to attack with a spell. The elf is confused about Yuno still being a human and Asta using Licht's sword, and starts to go wild. Yuno comments about how they will have to save the elf before he had become something else. Yuno uses his magic in order from Asta to get closer enough to the elf. While attacking the elf, Asta thinks about how the elves want to be saved. As Asta manages to land a hit with Licht's sword, the reincarnation magic is dispelled. Asta thinks about how with Licht's sword, they will be able to save everyone. After the fighting is done, all the children hug Asta and Yuno.
At the Black Bulls headquarters, the Eye of the Midnight Sun's base reach which Magna wonders what is with the huge rock while the Elf in Luck's body prepares to head out.[19]
As the Purple Orca member wonders what has happened, the children wonder about Yuno's appearance while Asta asks if Sister Lily is alright. The Father comments about how Asta and Yuno have become fine Mages when he notices that they are already leaving. As Asta and Yuno leave to go save the kingdom, the children, Lily, and the father bind them all farewell.
Later as Asta and Yuno reach the common realm, Yuno comments about how he can sense two elves magic in two different directions. Asta says that he will head out in one direction since he has the new sword, which Yuno replies that he will take the Purple Orca member in order to restrain the elf with his poison plant magic. Both agree with this and say that they will meet up in the capital.[20]
Saving a Friend[]
Elsewhere, Magna and Vanessa arrive at a town wondering what is going on but notices Luck. As Magna asks what is Luck doing, the elf replies that the body no longer belongs to their friend but to him while also introducing himself as Lufulu. As Lufulu charges, he misses both Magna and Vanessa and notices that it was because of Rouge. As Magna goes to attack Lufulu, Rouge touches Magna and makes him fall. Vanessa thinks about how Rouge will protect all the members of the Black Bulls, Magna tells Vanessa to dispel the magic. As Vanessa comments about how they can wake up Luck, Magna replies that he is going to wake up Luck his way.
Magna then throws multiple fireballs, which Lufulu says that they will not hit him. The fireballs all vanish, which Lufulu senses where they are and dodges them all. Lufulu comments about the humans will not be able to defeat him and wonders if Magna can dodge his attack. Vanessa pulls Magna out of the way, which Magna takes the chance to throw more fireballs. Lufulu says that the fireball will not hit him, when the fireballs suddenly explode. Magna explains his new spell and throws some more, which Lufulu dodges them all. Lufulu notices that Magna is throwing normal fireballs and wonders what that is all about, when Magna suddenly appears behind Lufulu. As Magna prepares to throw a fireball, Lufulu catches Magna and says that he had sensed Magna. As Magna replies that he knew about what Lufulu is capable of, the fireball in Magna's hand explodes. As Lufulu wonders what is happening, Magna explains that Luck would have known that he would do take. As Magna grabs a hold of Lufulu, more fireballs hit them and explodes. Magna explains to Lufulu that he the best there is at taking a beating, and hits Lufulu with a giant fireball. Magna then uses a spell to restrain Lufulu and explain how Lufulu will not be able to defeat him. Magna then tells Lufulu to give Luck back, which Lufulu frees himself by releasing a lightning bolt that Asta can see and asks Magna about who does not have a chance of winning.[21]
As Magna and Vanessa are shocked by Lufulu's power increase, which Lufulu asks them how they plan to defeat him. Magna replies that he will beat Lufulu until Luck wakes up, which Magna prepare to throw a fireball but Lufulu disappears. Suddenly Lufulu starts to destroy the town, which Magna figures that Lufulu is moving at an intense speed. As Lufulu strikes Magna, Lufulu suddenly notices that he has not striked yet. Lufulu does to strike again but misses Magna. Lufulu figures out how Vanessa's spell works, and wonders who mana will gives out first.[22] After a little bit, Lufulu manages to defeat both Magna and Vanessa, while commenting about how was sooner then he thought. As Lufulu says that the kingdom will be destroyed, Magna and Vanessa tells Lufulu to shut up and to give Luck back. Lufulu tells Magna and Vanessa that they will not be able to break the Reincarnation Magic with they bond, which Magna asks why Lufulu is crying. Magna tries to wake Luck up by explaining how strong he has gotten, while Vanessa says that she will not let Luck be taken away. As Lufulu goes to kill Magna, Asta suddenly appears by Rouge's power and saves Magna.
Asta prepares to battle Lufulu, while saying that Luck is their friend. Lufulu comment that someone with no mana like Asta exist, which Asta replies that he is already acknowledged by the members of the Black Bulls.[23] Lufulu tells Asta that he does not care who Asta is and starts to destroy the town again while thinking that Asta will not be able to follow his movements. As Lufulu goes to strike Asta, Asta notices and counters but Lufulu dodges. As Lufulu distance himself from Asta, Lufulu thinks about Asta was able to follow his movements. Asta easily chases after Lufulu and explains to Lufulu how he is able to chase after him.[24] Lufulu tries to attack Asta, but Asta easily counter the attack. Suddenly Lufulu is able to land a hit on Asta, which Asta thinks that Lufulu was able to hit him by battle intuition only. Asta calls for Magna and Vanessa's help, which Magna and Vanessa start to attack Lufulu but does not land an attack. Lufulu attacks Asta, which Asta blocks it but is pushed back. Asta thinks about how his body is almost at its limit and that he will have to settle this with the next attack. Magna creates a large smokescreen, which Lufulu counters by sense where Asta is dispelling his mana. As Lufulu notices where Asta is, he goes in to attack. Vanessa moves Asta out of the way, which Magna throws a fireball to cut Vanessa's thread. Asta takes this chance to attacks and lands a blow on Lufulu.[25]
Asta quickly mounts Lufulu and plans to release Luck, but Lufulu blocks Asta by releasing his mana. Lufulu goes to kill Asta, but Magna and Vanessa hold Lufulu down. Inside of Luck's body, Luck starts to hear Asta, Magna, and Vanessa but suddenly sees his mother. As Luck's mother calls to him, Luck decides to head towards his mother.
Lufulu tells the others that he will kill everyone including himself, by releasing all of his mana. Everyone notices Lufulu's mana and think about how Lufulu will become something evil.[26] Lufulu also says that he will not forgive the humans, because of what they had taken from him. Asta replies that he does not know what has happened to Lufulu but still apologizes to them. Asta also says that Luck is their precious comrades and to not take him away from them. Asta then tells Lufulu that his precious ones will not want him to be like this, and manages to stab Lufulu.
Inside of Luck's body, Luck sees a light and tells his mother that he has to go. Luck also says that has found something precious to him and thanks him mother for everything. As Luck leaves Luck's mother start to cry with a smile of her face. Luck then remember what everyone had told him when he had join with the Black Bulls.
Lufulu suddenly remember what Licht's friend once said about how the humans and elves can be friend, and comments about how he wish he had gotten to know humans like them. The magic is then undone and Luck gets back up in his own body. As Luck comments about how he is the Black Bull's comrade with tears running down his face, which Magna hugs Luck and says that they are comrades.[27] Vanessa also hugs Luck, while Asta cheers. Luck also thanks them but wonders about the villagers of the town. Vanessa tells Luck that she used her Thread Magic to save all the villagers. Vanessa and Magna then question Asta about his new sword, which Asta replies that the sword is capable of undoing the Reincarnation Magic. Asta also comments about how the elves are not bad guys to begin with, which Luck replies that the elves are truly kind and that Lufulu was happy when he was released.[28] Asta then says that he will save everyone else with his new sword. As Vanessa and Magna are confused by Asta's "everyone" comment, Asta reveals that the elves have taken over people within the kingdom. Vanessa tells Asta about the light that they saw and that they should be heading to their base, which Luck replies that he will handle that.
Luck uses Vanessa's magic along with the magic that he had gotten from his time as an elf to bring everyone to the base. Once they reach the base's location, they notice that their base is destroyed. As they wonder what happened, they come across Gordon, Gray, and Henry. Magna notices Henry and wonders who he is while getting closer to him, but drops to the ground after getting his mana sucked out. As Magna says that Henry is an enemy, but Asta reveals who Henry and how he was capable of meeting him. Magna then asks what happened, which everyone says what happened but Magna does understand them. Asta understands them all and comments about how Gauche was turned into an elf and then headed to the capital after destroying the base. Vanessa says that they have to go save Gauche but they are out of Mana.
They suddenly sense and intense magic force, which they notice Charmy and think that she has turned into an elf. Charmy asks who destroyed her garden, which they tells her that if was the elves. Charmy tells them that they will come with her to defeat the elves, but they reply that they are out of mana. Charmy uses her magic to create a chef to cook some food, and tells them to eat it. As they eat the food, they notice that their mana is restored. Charmy explains how this spell is capable of restoring the eater's mana, but tells Asta that it will not give him any mana.[29] As they are eat, they reveal that Yami went to the Golden Dawn's base, Noelle went to the capital with her brother, and that Zora is a member of the Black Bulls. Henry then uses his magic to reconstruct the base to transport everyone to the capital, to save the kingdom.
The Black Bulls Charge[]
As the Black Bulls charge towards the capital, Luck senses that there are three elves at the town ahead of them. In Hecairo, the elves have ruined the town and defeated the Magic Knights that were protecting it.[30] Suddenly one of the elves notices that something is heading towards them, which another elf uses his earth magic to create a wall. The Black Bulls easily manage to break through the wall, to the surprise of the elf. Henry rearranges the base and attacks the elves but the elves dodge. As rubble starts to fall on the citizens, Charmy and Vanessa use their magic to save the citizens. Grey then uses her magic to free all the citizens that were trapped by the elves. The elves attack the Black Bulls base, but they all miss because of Vanessa's magic. Magna, Luck, and Gordon fire spells at the elves through the bases cannons, which Henry increase the power of the spell along with making sure the spell hit the elves.[31] The elves get angry and prepares to fire a combine spell, in order to harm the citizens if they cannot harm the Black Bulls. Henry then fires Asta out of a cannon, and manages to defeat the elves.
At Patolli's location, William thinks about how he had felt that there was someone slumbering within him and even started to see their memories. Later after William meets Julius, William decides to join the Magic Knights and devote himself to Julius. Once Patolli had awakened, William was convinced that he was sharing his body with someone else. William knew of Patolli's mission, and was confused about what to do since it meant that he would be betraying his kingdom and Julius. Once Patolli had defeated Julius, William congratulates Patolli and wishes him luck before falling into a complete slumber.[32]
Patolli awakens, after falling asleep from activating the magic spell. Patolli notices that his reincarnation has been completed and that William has fallen into a deep, endless slumber. Patolli thanks William, then bids him farewell. Patolli then thinks about how the Licht and that others are heading to the capital, and then heads out. Once Patolli leaves, Rades grimoire activates and revives Rades along with Sally and Valtos.[33] Rades notices Patolli, and swear to exact his revenge on Patolli along with Sally and Valtos.
At Hecairo, Asta releases all three elves which the Black Bulls cheers. Suddenly Sally, Rades, and Valtos appears, and Rades says that he will use the Black Bulls for his revenge. Asta asks what they want, which Rades replies that he wants to kill Patolli for using him for his own goals. Rades also tells them that Patolli is heading to the capital, and that they can get their instantly with Valtos's magic. Rades continues by saying that they can even transport the Black Bulls base too, if they work together. Rades asks if they have a deal, which Luck comments about how the remaining elves are all heading to the capital. Rades then asks if they are going to team up, which Asta responds by Lariat Rades while calling him annoying. Asta tells Rades that their goals are different since the Black Bulls what to protect the people.[34] Rades asks what Asta is going, but Asta continues his assault while comments about how Rades attacked innocent civilians the last time he attacked the capital. Asta says that they are going to have to atone for what they have done by saving the kingdom, which Rades wonders if he is joking.
Asta says that if it is just heading to the capital, then he does not need Rades and can just negotiate with the other two. Valtos replies that he will cooperate since he wants to find out the truth from Patolli. Valtos also says that if everything that Patolli says was a lie, then he is a criminal and will atone for his crimes. Rades then asks Sally if she wants revenge, which Sally responds that she was only with Patolli because he let her do experiments that the Magic Knights will not. Sally also says that she is happy to be alive and can do more research. As Sally comments about how she had come up with more ideas, Asta realizes something and tells Sally that she can examine him body if she join them. As Asta explains the condition of her researching things, Sally replies that she does not understand but agrees to it anyway.[35]
Charmy gives Valtos and Sally food that restores their mana. Charmy also agrees to kill Rades food, which Asta asks if Rades wants to save the kingdom. Rades says that he will join them but just do what he wants to do, which Asta says that Rades will help them save the kingdom.
Defend the Capital[]
At the capital, the city is in ruins and the people wonder if this is the end of the kingdom. Suddenly the Black Bulls base appears much to the shocked of the people.
A little back in time, Yami sees the reincarnation happen but wonders what happened since he can sense a magical presence across the kingdom even though it was not an attack.[36] Owen and Marx suddenly appear before Yami in a giant jellyfish, after having attacked two mages. As Yami comments about Owen and Marx, they reveal that they are not Yami's friends but the elves and have come to kill all the humans. The elves attack Yami which Yami dodges the attack, and think about how the elves have made Owen and Marx's magic more powerful. The elves notices that Yami is protecting Julius's corpse, and comments about how they will destroy it in front of Yami. Yami gets angry by their comment and charges, which an elf comments about how this will make Yami easier to hit. Marx fires multiple arrows, which Yami counters the arrows and destroys the jellyfish the elves are riding. As the elves are surprised by Yami's movements, Yami takes the chance to knock them out.
Yami comments about how the elves where powerful even through Marx and Owen were not battle type mages, when roses suddenly grab a hold of the elves. Charlotte suddenly appears and comments about how her brethren were careless and that they can rest within her magic for now. Yami comments about how that is not like her, which the elf replies that she does not know him but all humans must be eliminated.[37] As Yami defends against the elf's attack, he comes across some citizens and tells them to leave or she will kill them. Yami thinks about how he has to get rid of the roses or they will be in trouble. Yami also thinks about how the roses are covering the elf's scents but manages to locate the elf by sensing their ki. Yami launches a spell but the elf dodges. The elf counters by thrusting a sword and have vines shoot from it, but Yami dodges. Yami thinks about how the elf use of Charlotte's magic is different from Charlotte's way and that their defense has no openings.[38] Yami also thinks about how because of the elf taking over Charlotte's body, her magic has returned to its original power. While he continues to attack and dodge the elf, Yami comments about how Charlotte was able to make herself strong even though her magic was weakened by a curse and that it pathetic that her magic is now being control be someone else.
Suddenly Sol shows up and asks why Charlotte attacked them, which the elf replies for Sol to not speak to her so familiarly. Yami tells Sol that Charlotte has been taken over by an elf, and that he will take can of her. Yami tells Sol to also take care of Julius's body, which Sol declines and says that she will be the one to free Charlotte from the elf's control. As Sol tries to launch a spell, she notices that she cannot use her magic within the space surrounding the elf. Sol thinks about how her life was saved by Charlotte, and says that she will wake Charlotte up even if she dies. Yami tells Sol to keep on living for Charlotte's sake as well, which Sol starts to cry and asks Yami to rescue Charlotte.
Yami tosses Sol aside and tells her to leave it to him, while telling her to get back. The elf manages to surround Yami with thorns but Yami uses a spell to free himself. Yami closes the distance and tries to wake Charlotte up by explaining what the elf is doing to her subordinates. The elf distance herself, and says that she acknowledges that Yami is strong and that she will use all of her power to kill him. Yami notices how strong the attack is and prepares for it, while comments about how he has always acknowledged how strong Charlotte is. As the elf launches her spell, Yami says that he is not going to kill her and manages to destroy the spell.
Sol decides to hide Julius's body by burying it underground, when she notices a surge of mana and worries about Charlotte.
Back at the fight the elf thinks about how even though her spell was stronger, Yami was able to cut her spell in half and destroy one of her gauntlets. The elf also wonders if the humans are capable of overturning the outcome of battles, regardless of the differences in mana quality.[39] The elf then thinks about how she has used to much mana, and decides to retreat with the other two elves while commenting about how she will have to deal with underestimating the humans later. As the elf heads out, she notices that Licht and the others are arriving.
As Sol arrives at the site, she notices that Charlotte is leaving and wonders about Yami. As Sol sees the site and worries about Yami, when Yami pops out of the rubble and says that he is not done fighting yet. Yami notices Sol and asks about Julius's body, which Sol replies that had hid it at a safe place. Sol then yells at Yami about saving Charlotte, which Yami responds that Sol can also save Charlotte even though she cannot fight. Yami also says that they should go save the citizens, which Sol agrees.
At the Magic Knights headquarters, Gueldre wonders what is going on with this tremendous magic power that he is sensing but decided to escape. Suddenly Revchi appears and the two start to talk until they yell at each other about who is the best. Both of them suddenly stop yelling at each other when each of them comments about Asta which confuses them. Suddenly an elf breaks in, and both Gueldre and Revchi thinks about the elf's power. As the elf comments about killing them, which Gueldre comments about how he can help them. The elf simple replies that he will just kill them since they are human and prepares an attack. Both Revchi and Gueldre agree to fight together, and Gueldre uses his magic to turn them invisible. The elf thinks about how the humans have completely disappeared, and just decides to destroy the whole surrounding area. Revchi then seal the elf with a chain spell, which the elf notices that his magic power is being sealed.[40] Revchi then comments about how he will be able to see the sun again, while Gueldre says that he will restore his dignity.
At the Crimson Lions headquarters, the Magic Knights that are defeated ask the their vice-captain Randall to please stop their attack. The elf controlling Randall's body replies that he will not stop until every last human drops dead. As the Magic Knights comment about how they cannot stop the elf, Leopold shouts that they will not break. Leopold also says that they were trained by the best captain ever and that he cannot lose here. The rest of the squad agrees with this and attack the elf, while the elf says that they are not even a match for him. The elf uses his magic to dodge the spells and starts to attack each of the Crimson Lions squad members one at a time. As the elf continues to battle using his Air Magic, the squad members inside of the base comment about how they have to protect Fuegoleon who is resting inside of the base.[41] Leopold manages to fire a spell at the elf, but the elf destroys the spell and fires one at Leopold. Leopold manages to dodge it and senses something high above them. Three mages tell Leopold to leave and take the wounded, but Leopold says that he can continue to fight. Leopold suddenly collapses, which the elf takes the chance to take out the three mages. The elf then says that he will give Leopold a gruesome death and prepares a spell.
Suddenly the Crimson Lion's base is engulf in flames, much to the shocked of everyone. Leopold thinks about how it might be an enemy, but notices that it feels different. Fuegoleon suddenly walks out of the building, with a flaming arm, and compliments Leopold on how he fought. Fuegoleon also says that he will not lose a second time, while also having Salamander perched on his flaming arm.[42] Leopold notices Salamander, and thinks about how Salamander was under the control of one of the Eye of the Midnight Sun's leaders until it had disappeared. Leopold also thinks about the qualities that Fuegoleon possesses and that there is no question that Salamander had chosen his brother.[43] Fuegoleon feels grateful to the mana that is flowing from the spirit, and tells Randall to prepare himself if he does not want to die. The elf responds that a human cannot defeat an elf, and prepares for an attack.
As Fuegoleon launches a spell, the elf tries to erase it but notices that the flames are too intense to erase. As the elf is engulfed in flames, Fuegoleon uses this chance to restrain the elf with a spell. As the squad sees this, they chant while Leopold thinks about how his brother is amazing and that he will one day surpass his brother. Leopold then tells his brother that their sister had taken over captain duties while he was asleep, which Fuegoleon thinks about how his sister was supposed to be captain instead of him. Fuegoleon also thinks about how Salamander has showed him that there are non-human presences at the heart of the capital. Fuegoleon then says that the battle has just begun, while thinking about William.
Protect the Castle[]
At the Golden Dawn's headquarters, all the elves at the base gather together. The elves figures that the humans that they reincarnated into, had gathered at one spot. An elf comments about how there are still more of them close by. The group of elves head to the last of them at the base, one of the elves comments about how Ratri's cousin Patolli was the one that reincarnated them. Ratri, who is in Langris's body, comments about how well he gets along with Patolli and that he they should the humans a golden dawn.
Elsewhere, Yami forces Finral to wake up. Yami tells Finral how bad the capital is, which Finral thinks about his brother and that he will save him this time. Finral then takes his bandages off, while telling Yami that they are heading out.
As the elves head towards to castle, Augustus is meeting with the Vaude Family about Langris being a traitor.[44] Langris's parents tell Augustus that their family would never be traitors and that their son has no reason too. Augustus tells the Vaude Family that he cannot allow a blood relative marry into such a family, which Finnes asks her Granduncle to not punish Langris and Finral. Suddenly a servant comes into the meeting and informs Augustus that a large amount of attack magic was used in the capital, which Augustus yells by the servant has to inform him about his incessant babbling and what the Magic Knights are even doing.
The elves arrive at the castle gates, which the castle knights asks why the Golden Dawn is here since they are the ones that protect the castle. Ratri says that they have business with the humans inside, which the a castle knights asks what nonsense he is speaking. The castle knight also says that they cannot allow anyone in the castle where the three great royal families live with out prior notice.[45] Ratri says that they do not care for a rule that humans have made up, and attacks the castle knights. The castles knights dodge the attacks and launch spells at the elves. An elf uses a spell to divert the spell away from them. Ratri and two others decide to each head into a resident of a royal family, while leaving the rest of the elves to handle the castle knights.
Yami and Finral notices that the elves have attacked the castle and decide to head over their castle while leave the Magic Knights to handle the town. Finral uses a spell to transport himself and Yami to the castle, and notice that there are four elves once they arrive. Finral and Yami notices how powerful they are and how this is a bad situation. An elf says that they can handle any amount of humans that come, when a slash suddenly comes at them. Jack suddenly appears and comments about how the most worthy to slice up would show up here. Yami and Jack start to argue with each other until they start charging the elves. As an elf comments about how both Yami and Jack will not make it out alive. Jack attacks an elf, which the elf defends himself with his magic and comments about how Jack will not be able to cut his magic with his power. Yami and Jack then defend themselves from the elves attacks, which Finral notices that the two captains are having a tough time. Yami tells Jack that it is about time to cut that out, which Jack agrees and prepares to attack. An elves says that Jack does not have the ability to cut him, which Jack launches his spell and manages to cut the elf. Jack thinks about how he adjusted his blade's property to match his opponent's magic, and tells the elf that he will show him what real cutting is since there is nothing his blade cannot cut.[46] Yami takes this chance to knock out an elf that is shocked by what Jack had done. The last two elves attack Jack and Yami from behind, which Finral teleports the two to behind the elves. Jack and Yami then knock out the last elves.
Finral compliments the two captains on how amazing they are, which Jack also compliments Finral of his support. Jack and Yami then get into an argument about Jack borrowing Finral.[47] Finral tells the captains that they have to get going, but suddenly notices something.
The Silva Residence[]
Inside of the Silva resident, an elf is attacking the humans when a noble uses a servant as a shield. The elf says that, that is useless since they will kill all the humans, and then takes out the noble and servant. Elsewhere inside the residence, Solid is complaining about Noelle which Nebra says that he was careless. As Nebra wonders what is that noise, when the elf breaks through the door. As Solid wonders why the elf is here, the elf says that she came to kill them. Nebra says that she will play with her and uses her magic to create clones, which the elf uses her magic to easily take out Nebra. Solid says that he will not let that slide, which the elf replies that today is the day that humans will go extinct.
Outside the enemy base Nozel has arrived, which Jack, Finral, and Yami each comment about their situation. Yami then notices that Nozel and the other have arrived, which Nozel tells the others to not let the castle fall.[48] After a quick greeting, they all head into the castle to protect the royal family. As Nozel, Noelle, and Zora head into the Silva residence, Zora decides to head off on his own which Nozel lets him. An elf suddenly attacks Nozel and Noelle, which Nozel easily defeats and manages to capture him. Nozel notices that the strongest among the elves is at the tower, which Nozel notices that is where Solid and Nebra are.
In the tower, Solid is having trouble dealing with the elf when the elf decides to finish him off. Nozel and Noelle break into the room to Solid just in time. Noelle attacks with her most powerful spell, but the elf easily diverts it. Nebra tries to help with a spell but the elf uses a spell that makes it hard for them to use their magic.[49] The elf then launches a spell that manages to wound Nozel. Solid starts to panic, which Nozel tells him to keep his wits. Noelle says that she can still fight, which Nozel tells her to show the elf that power of the Silva family. The elf tells them that their attack will not hit her in this closed off place. The elf then launches more needles at them but Nozel manages to block them. As Nozel and Noelle begin to think about what to do, when Noelle decides to be reckless. As Noelle uses her magic to flood the place, Nozel uses his magic to protect himself and his siblings. The elf releases her spell so that she does not drown, which Nozel uses this chance to wound the elf.
As Noelle is glad that they had won, Nozel apologizes to Noelle for the way that he has treated her.[50] Nozel then says that they have to heal Nebra when he is suddenly attacked from behind. The elf creates a larger barrier that she will not drown in. Noelle thinks about how she wants to protect her siblings and uses her magic to create an armor and weapon to attack at close range. As the elf sees this, and launches needles at Noelle. Noelle easily dodges the needles and closes the distance to the elf. The elf uses her magic to distance herself and fire more needles at Noelle. Noelle continues to dodge the needles, which Nozel sees this and thinks about there mother. Once Noelle gets close to the elf, Noelle attacks with her lance but the elf use her magic to create a shield that blocks the attack. The elf then prepares to attack, but Noelle presses on with her attack and manages to pierce the shield.[51] As Noelle manages to defeat the elf, the barrier is undone and releases the siblings.
As Solid tries to get his siblings medical treatment, when they are suddenly surrounded by more elves. One of the elves comments about what they had done to Kivn, and fires a spell at Noelle. Zora suddenly shows up and reflects the spell back, managing to defeat the elf. Zora then drops the servant that he had brought and tells him to heal the siblings. The servant uses his magic to heal Nebra, and asks Solid to bring Nozel to him. As Solid just stands frozen, Zora begins to mock him for freezing. Nozel overhears this and thinks about how his mother had told him to protect his siblings.[52] As Noelle tries to get Zora to stop mocking Solid, Nozel gets up and tells Noelle that Zora is right. Zora then uses a spell, that lets Noelle and Nozel see were his traps are located. As Noelle and Nozel start to defeat the elves, two of the elves get behind the two. Noelle and Nozel fires a spell at the elves behind them, but the spells miss the elves. The elves notices that the spells have hit some trap spells, which Zora thinks about how the elves do not understand trap magic or other complicated magics. The spells are suddenly send back and hit the elves.
At the Vermillion residence, Mimosa, Kirsch, and En are using their magic to help the humans escape while confusing the elves. An elf suddenly appears behind Mimosa and introduces himself as Baval, as he is confused with the human he is possessing.[53] Baval talks with the three about giving up and let them kill all the humans since it is all useless, but Mimosa responds that they will not give up. Baval then reveals that one of them is heading to the king, and that it will be impossible to stop him from killing the king.
The Kira Residence[]
At the Kira residence, Ratri is attacking everyone is the king's room. Augustus tries to stop Ratri with his light magic, but Ratri easily destroys his pathetic spell. As Ratri prepares to kill the king, Finnes tries to stop him. Ratri pushes her aside and attacks her but Finral shows up and stops him. Yami and Jack appear and charge at Ratri, while using Finral's portal's to close the distance. Before they can get close enough, Ratri magic attacks both of them and stops their charge. As Ratri tells them to entertain him, Yami and Jack say that this will be fun.
Finral takes this chance to get his parents and Augustus to safety but Ratri stops Augustus from leaving the room. Jack uses a spell to cut a hole in the wall behind Augustus, which Augustus uses to escape. Ratri is angered by this and attacks with a spell, but is countered by one of Finral's spells. As Ratri's spell is more powerful, Finral tells Jack and Yami that they will have to dodge the spell on their own. Yami and Jack uses spells to avoid Ratri's spell. Yami tries to attack but his spell is blocked. Yami then dodges when Ratri counterattacks. Yami thinks about how they will need Jacks blade in order to break through Ratri's defense.[54] Jack manages to cut through Ratri's Spatial Magic much to Ratri's surprise. Jack and Yami then use a spell to break through Ratri's defense, but Ratri uses a spell to force Yami and Jack out of the room. Ratri then attacks Finral and even manages to wound him. As Ratri goes to kill Finral, Jack and Yami suddenly show up. Ratri figures out that Finral let himself get wounded in order to summon his allies, but it is already too late. Finral then thinks about how he will save his brother with his allies.
Ratri says that he is a little bit faster, but Finral replies that the two that he is facing are Magic Knight captains which Ratri wonders what can try do. Jack suddenly cuts through Ratri's magic, much to Ratri's surprise, and explains how his blade gets faster the more it cuts.[55] Yami then uses a spell to try and knock Ratri out but this just makes Ratri angry and goes on a rampage. As Yami wonders what to do, Finral tells him that they do nothing. Finral explains how Ratri will not recognize his magic and creates a portal to deliver a punch at Ratri. Inside of Ratri's mind, Langris is in the fetal position when Finral show up to rescue him. Outside of the mind, Finral collapses which Yami comment about how Finral stole the end of the show and that he did a good job.[56]
At the Eye of the Midnight Sun base, Patolli arrives a the base and is greeted by the elf possessing Gauche, Drowa. Rhya shows up and greets Drowa along with Eclat, who is possessing Marie. Patolli asks Rhya where Licht is, which Rhya replies that Licht has not regained his memories and is currently asleep.[57] Rhya also says that the rest are waiting inside the base, but Patolli says that the humans are trying to fix all the member of the Golden Dawn. Patolli also says that the king is mostly likely dead since Ratri is rampaging in the castle. Patolli final says that once they place the final magic stone in their possession in the pedestal in the castle, they will be fully reborn and they will then eradicate the humans to reclaim the calm tranquil world for the elves.[58]
In the castle, Yami comments about how there are a bunch of tough one inside of the Eye of the Midnight Sun base. Yami also wonder were the rest of the Magic Knights are since if they lag any longer, then he will knock all the elves out.
Apostles of Sephirah[]
Inside of the elves' base, Rhya greets both Fana and Vetto, who were brought back to life thanks to Sally's research.[59] Rhya asks what the two remember, which the two comment about how they were members of the Eye of the Midnight Sun. Fana comments about how she can remember everything perfectly this time, which Rhya replies that the spell was forced onto her. Fana notices that Salamander is gone, which Rhya thinks about how there is someone more qualified for Salamander and tells Fana that she is still more powerful even without Salamander. Rhya then says that he will take them to the grimoire tower to get their grimoires, which Vetto says that they will have to get some clothes first.
Later the elves discuss that it is about time for the capital the humans have made to come to an end, since the Congregation of Sephira are gathering at the top of the base. At the top, the others are glad to see Licht which Rhya tells the other that once the complete the spell Licht will return to normal. Suddenly Patolli senses another elf, which Rhya explains how the Yuno was still able to remain in control of his body. After looking over the capital, the elves begin their spell to open the door to the realm of the dead.[60]
As a dark castle is summoned, everyone wonders what it is which Baval explains how the castle is the Shadow Palace and that the Elves will be fully reincarnated once the final magic stone is placed in the pedestal in the Shadow Palace. Kirsch says that he will not let that happen and attacks, but Baval easily stops the attack. Baval then leaves while tells them to give it their best shot even through it is useless.
As Jack and Yami discuss that they have to do something, elves come down from their base and say that they will stop them from interfering. As Noelle, Zora, Yami, and Jack prepare to fight the elves, the Black Bulls suddenly appear and attack the elves. The ones that had arrived quickly check to see if everyone at the castle is okay, when the elves start to attack them. Thanks to Luck, Vanessa, and Charmy's magic, they are able to easily take on the elves while avoiding their attacks.[61] As Patolli sees all of this, Reve says that she will handle this and uses her magic to teleport Vanessa, Magna, Luck, Charmy, and Sally to another dimension. Patolli and Drowa use a spell to destroy the Black Bulls base. Patolli then departs, while leaving the rest to Drowa.
Inside of the alternate dimension, Reve welcomes her captives to the world of her whim. As the five begin to wonder about the oddities of the dimension, Reve informs them that within this dimension the impossible is possible.[62] Reve also says that everything exist according to her whim and has the bed the five are standing on restrain them. Reve then creates a creature that attacks the five. As Reve thinks that the five are dead, she is shocked when all five of them still alive. Reve figures out that it was Vanessa's magic that changed the results and will be problematic.
Sally is amazed by everything that is happening and that both Vanessa and Reve's magic is amazing. As Charmy has Vanessa restore her mana with her magic, Reve thinks about how it will be difficult to defeat her enemies as long as Charmy and Vanessa are in play. Magna and Luck try to attack Reve but she easily blocks their spells. Vanessa thinks about how they are in a bad situation that they can only defend against Reve, and that they will have to escape this dimension soon. Reve attacks but the five are able to destroy the incoming attack. Reve wonders if there is a limit to their mana recovery, and launches a stream of water and bladed fish at the five. Sally has Luck and Magna the water with the magic, which causes a large explosion. As the other wonders what had happened, Sally explains what they did and how Reve's magic works.[63] As the steam clears, it is revealed that Reve had protected herself with a barrier. As Magna says that they have to find a way out of the dimension, Reve tells them that it is already to late for that. Vanessa looks at Charmy and notices that she is starting to fall asleep. As Vanessa also starts to fell tired, Reve explains to them that all those within the Glamor World will never awaken once they fall asleep.
As Sally thinks about how Reve's looking tired is making them tired, she figures out something. Sally makes a figure out of glasses with her fingers and tells Reve to guest what they are. As glasses suddenly made, Sally explains how whatever Reve thinks about, will appear. Sally then tells Reve to create an exit, which multiple door suddenly appear. Sally also explains how it hard to get rid of something that pop into their head. As the five quickly head towards one of the exits, Reve seals all of the exits so the five cannot escape.
As they all wonder what to do, Luck comes up with an idea and informs the others. Magna then uses his fireballs to create a smokescreen, which Reve easily clears away the smoke. As the smoke clears, Reve notices a doll that resembles Dorothy made of Vanessa and Charmy's magic. As Reve summons Dorothy by accident, Dorothy wakes up and tells the Black Bulls that they did a good job summoning her along with that she will handle the rest.[64] Reve attacks Dorothy, who blocks it and expresses how she has finally faced an opponent who shares the same dreams as her. Reve and Dorothy continue to battle each other until Glamour World collapses. As Glamour World disappears, Dorothy bids the Black Bulls farewell and how much she had. When they get back to the real world, Magna and Luck attack Reve with a combination spell.
A little while back when Reve brought the five to the Glamour World, Patolli and Drowa use a combination spell to destroy the Black Bulls base. Grey and Gordon use their magics to save the others from the fall. Patolli then leave to the Shadow Palace, which Valtos and Rades follow behind. The Black Bulls notice that they are running low on mana, Yami notices this and tells them that they can handle this and to surpass their limits.[65] As the Black Bulls agree, Yami and Jack leave to the Shadow Palace.
Drowa notices the some of the humans have escaped, and says that they will finish them off once that handle the ones here. Drowa and Eclat then uses a combination spell to paralyze all the humans. As Drowa explains how all Eclat's magic works, Asta thinks about how powerful Eclat is without a grimoire. As Drowa prepares to kill them all, Asta uses his sword to free himself along with Grey, Gordon, and Henry. Drowa recognizes Asta's sword and fires a spell, while says that Asta should die and return the sword. Grey, Gordon, and Henry manages to block the attack, while Asta reflects the spell back at Drowa. Asta, Grey, Gordon, and Henry then start to explain who Gauche is and how they will get him back. Drowa comments about how he can tells that they are well acquainted with one another, but he is not out of tricks yet and tells Eclat that it time for that.
As Drowa launches his mirrors towards the four, Asta says that they already know how to counter this tactic. Suddenly Asta is rapidly shift to a higher location, which Asta notices that Gauche uses this tactic to avoid attacks. Drowa then thinks about what the Demon-Destroyer Sword is capable of and decides to get rid of him first.[66] Drowa reflects Eclat's image within his mirrors, to try to paralyze Asta but Asta closes his eyes. Drowa then fires a spell at Asta, but Asta manages to counter it by using his Ki. Drowa then fires more spells at Asta, but Grey, Gordon, and Henry use their magic to put a barrier around Asta. Drowa's spell manage to destroy the barrier, but Asta manages to enter his black form and counter the spells. Asta then breaks Drowa's mirrors and heads to attack Drowa but Drowa manages to paralyze Asta with the mirror in his eye. As Drowa uses a powerful spell to finish Asta off, Grey, Gordon, and Henry use their magic to reach Asta and block Drowa's spell. Henry then thinks about how Drowa is stronger then Gauche, but they will manage to get Gauche back.[67]
It is explained that Henry uses Magic Absorbing Constitution, to maintain his life force, since he was born with a feeble body.[68] Henry was able born into a certain famed noble house, but was put into a house in the middle of the forest so as to keep the victims to a minimum. Henry thinks about how he was dead until everyone had shown up, and how he will save Gauche since he is one of the ones that had helped give him the body that he has right no.
As Asta charges towards Drowa and Eclat, Drowa figures out how Asta's tactic works and creates a large mirror ball that spread mirror shards around that area. As Asta begins to destroy that shards in the area, Drowa creates a large mirror that reflects Eclat's eye. Henry tells everyone to get get into his mobile base, which everyone quickly rushes in. Asta thinks about how many times he can use his black form, and that he can only use it barely one more time. Grey uses her magic to convert the material of the base into mirror, and they head towards Drowa and Eclat. Drowa uses his mirrors to send the four upwards, while using another spell to destroy the bases engine. Henry ejects Asta, Grey, and Gordon, and heads towards Drowa and Eclat. As Drowa comments about what Henry is planning to do, Henry suddenly destroys his mobile base and begins to absorb Drowa and Eclat's mana. Drowa says that that is useless and prepares to fire a spell at Henry. As Henry says that Asta, Grey, and Gordon can handle the rest, Asta tells him that he will not die yet. Henry remembers when he had met Asta, along with what they had talked about.[69] After remembering, Henry thinks about how he still wants to live with his friends. Gordon then uses a spell to cover the giant mirror ball, while Asta throws his sword, which is just Grey that is transformed into the sword, at Henry. Grey undoes her transformation and catches Henry, while also creating a soft landing for them. Asta then hits Gauche and Eclat with his Demon-Destroyer Sword.
As Drowa lays on the floor, he thinks back to when the humans had killed all the elves.[70] Drowa also thinks about how despicable the humans are, and how the Asta, Grey, Gordon, and Henry are nothing like them. Drowa then informed Asta that he will lose control soon and to what they want to him, which Asta uses the Demon-Destroyer Sword to undo the spell on Gauche and Marie. As Drowa fades away, he comments if a power that can make it like nothing happened in the first place but that power would have to be paid in the end and that they should engrave this deep in there hearts, which Asta replies that he will never forget Drowa.[71]
Once both Gauche and Marie are awake, Asta says that he is glad that they are alright which Gauche replies about what had happened to them and how he had never planned to trust them when joining the Black Bulls with his sister. Gauche also says that they should have left a scumbag like him alone, which the others tells him that they still like him. As Gauche thanks them, Gauche, Grey, and Asta rush to hug him. Suddenly Vanessa, Luck, Charmy, Magna, and Sally come crashing down on them in a ball of cotton. They all greet each other and eat Charmy's food to restore their mana. Zora and Noelle are flying above them on a broom, when Noelle suddenly slips and falls to the other with Zora. After they all meet up, minus Finral, they proclaim that they will head after Yami once they have replenish their mana. Below the elves' base, Finral has woken up and thinks about how he feels that he had missed out on joining in on something.
Outside of the castle, Gueldre notices that Shadow Palace and informs Revchi about how it is an ancient magical dimension that contains ancient magical artifacts and treasures within it.[72]
Inside of the castle as everyone is eating Charmy's food, they decide to take care of the enemies that are in the capital. Asta asks Mimosa to heal him since he is hurt, which Mimosa uses her magic to start healing him. As Noelle comments about how Asta pushes him to much, she notices Sally and asks what she is doing here. Sally tells Noelle that Asta will allow her to have her way with his body once this is over, which completely shocks both Noelle and Mimosa.
Suddenly Luck notices that there are two elves heading to their location. As the elves launch attacks at the group, Mereoleona and Fuegoleon show up and defeat the elves. A fully healed Nozel that is watching the battle from above, comments about how the Vermillion family has returned to the battlefield. Magna tells everyone that the hole to the Shadow Palace is getting smaller, which Mimosa informs everyone what happens when the elves put the final magic stone in the pedestal in the shadow palace.
At group of elves from the Golden Dawn show up intending to kill them. As Mereoleona thinks about how they will not able to get to the hole before the hole closes, which the Black Bulls tells Mereoleona and Fuegoleon to head to the palace while they handle the elves. Magna tells Asta to head with them, since they could use the power of his Demon-Destroyer Sword. Kirsch tells Mimosa to also head with them, since they could use a healer with them too. As Noelle tries to say that she will head with them too, when Solid tells Noelle to head with them since he how acknowledges her and will one day overcome her. As Asta, Noelle, Mimosa, Mereoloena, Fuegoleon, and Nozel head towards the palace, the elves tries to stop them but the Black Bulls get in their way. Fuegoleon and Nozel use Salamander and an unknown eagle spell to head towards the Shadow Palace with Mimosa, Asta, Noelle, and Mereoleona.[73]
The Shadow Palace[]
As the group enter the hole to the Shadow Palace, they notices that the Mana around them is strange and wonder what is going on which Nozel says that the Shadow Palace is the border to the living world and that afterlife.[74] Once they reach the Shadow Palace, Asta and Mimosa notices that the others are not with them. Mimosa then uses her magic to heal Asta, which enables him to use his black form again. Mimosa then uses her magic to create a layout of the Shadow Palace, and finds out that they are larger room with an elf in each room. Asta and Mimosa says that they will have to defeat all their opponents in order to reach the boss that is at the top of the Palace. Asta figures out that the elves' boss is Licht, and that they will have to rendezvous with the other once they reach the top.
As Asta and Mimosa head up to the room above them, they are greeted by Lira once they reach the room. Lira brings the paintings in the room to life and says that he will use them to practice with his painting magic until the final magic stone is put in place. In another room, Noelle wonders why she is all along when Fana appears and says that she will keep her company even through Noelle will not last long. At another room Vetto meet with Mereoleona and says that she has some interesting mana for royalty. Mereoleona tells Vetto that she will have to teach him some manners, which Vetto replies that they are not beast to be disciplined by humans. In another room, Fuegoleon meet with the elf that is possessing the kingdom's ultimate shield. The elf tells Fuegoleon to not go easy on him since they do not know each other, which Fuegoleon replies that holding back would he disrespectful.[75]
Fuegoleon informs that elf what kind of a person he is possessing and that he will get him back since there are others waiting for him.[76] Fuegoleon fires a spell at the elf, but the elf using his magic to block the attack. Fuegoleon thinks about how Kaiser's magic works and that with the elf's power, magic attacks will not work on him. As the elf expands his vortex's reach to attack, Fuegoleon defends himself but still takes damage. In another room, Mereoleona tries to land a blow on Vetto but Vetto dodges all her blows. Vetto manages to knock Mereoleona to the ground, but Mereoleona gets back up and expresses how she will bust through him. Mereoleona also tells Vetto how impresses he is, which Vetto tells her that she is that same. Mereoleona and Vetto then continues to clash, which Mereoleona thinks about how she has not had a fight this exciting since her fight with Fuegoleon. At Fuegoleon's fight, Fuegoleon thinks about how the elf is countering all his spells and how it reminds him of his sister. Fuegoleon thinks about how his sister was as they grew up and that he may have been jealous of her. Fuegoleon also thinks about how his sister went on a journey of her own when she got her grimoire, instead of joining the Crimson Lions along with that fight they once had. As both the elf facing Fuegoleon and Vetto express how their opponent is the strongest in the kingdom and that falling the other humans would be easy. As both elves attack their opponents, Mereoleona and Fuegoleon manages to counter the attacks. Mereoleona and Fuegoleon thinks about how their sibling is and expresses that the title of strongest belongs to their sibling. Both elves thinks about how their opponent was able to counter their assault. Mereoleona and Fuegoleon manage to land a blow on their opponent, while thinking that they have to get strong because of their sibling.[77]
As Noelle battles Fana, Noelle thinks about how her spell is taking a toll on her since she has not mastered it yet. Noelle decides to go all out against Fana, and fires her Roar of the Sea Dragon spell. As the spell manages to blow off the top part of Fana's body, Noelle is shocked about this until Fana uses a spell to regenerate herself. Fana explains to Noelle that the elves are capable of using unbelievable spell with their mana from the other world since they had used the forbidden magic.[78] Noelle then wonders how she is supposed to deal with him.
At Asta location, Asta continues to battle through Lira's creates and thinks about he does not have the chance to enter his black form. Asta also thinks about how even if he manages to get through the creations, it will be all for not if he cannot land a blow on Lira. When Mimosa is suddenly attacked, Asta comes to her rescue. Mimosa apologizes and says that she will heal him, but Asta replies that he does not have the time to rest. Asta then suggest that Mimosa get on his shoulders and wrap her plant magic around them, so that Mimosa can heal him while Asta continues to battle. Once Mimosa gets on Asta's shoulders, Asta continues to battle Lira's creations.
Outside of the Shadow Palace, the Black Bulls continue to battle the elves when Yuno and other Magic Knights show up. Yuno manages to defeat the elves, which Zora thinks about how Yuno was able to help all the Magic Knights across the kingdom and defeat the elves here. As Charmy greet Yuno and offers him food, Yuno notices that his mana is recovering as he eats. Yuno then asks what the situation is, which Charmy informs him that Asta and the others headed into the Shadow Palace to take on the more powerful foes. Charmy also says that the portal to the Shadow Palace is closed. Suddenly Yuno pendant releases a light that opens a portal to the Shadow Palace. As Yuno heads to the Shadow Palace, Charmy tags along with him.
Once they head into the portal, Charmy is separated from Yuno and wonders where she is. Charmy notices that Asta is battling against foes, which Asta suddenly notices Charmy. Asta asks why Charmy is here, which Charmy tells him that she came to this weird place along with Yuno. As Asta is shocked that Yuno is here too, but also tells Charmy that all of the monster are created by Lira's magic.
Lira starts to panic about wanting to paint more beautiful monster, instead of painting monster to kill the humans. As Charmy offers to help Lira by offering him food, Lira responds by smacking the food away and saying that he would never eat food made by a human. Charmy gets angry at this and attacks with a spell, but Lira easily counters and knocks Charmy to the flour. As Asta is worried Charmy and rushes over to her but suddenly notices an ominous chill. Suddenly Charmy's large sheep asks if he can come out now, which causes both Charmy, her grimoire, and the sheep suddenly change. While this happens, they all notices that Charmy is suddenly different. After done changing, Charmy has grown taller and the sheep has become a wolf. Lira notices the mana that Charmy has and announces that Charmy is a half human and half dwarf.[79] Asta, Mimosa, and even Charmy is shocked by this, which Charmy and Asta asks what is a dwarf. Mimosa informs them that a dwarf is another race, like the elves, that possess very special skills and abilities. As Charmy is also surprised that her sheep was in really a wolf, she suddenly started to drool and says that she is hungry.
Lira says that he will still erase Charmy because she is getting in her way, and attacks. Charmy uses a spell to have the wolf eat all the monsters that Lira had created, much to the shock Asta and Mimosa. Lira thinks about how he had heard that half-breeds can possess two types of magic.[80] Lira notices that Charmy is converting all the magic her spell had eaten, into her own mana. Lira also thinks about how Charmy spell can eat faster then he can paint, but his imagination will not lose to her. Charmy then starts to punch her way through all of Lira's monsters, which Lira is shocked by how unbelievable the power of Charmy's punch is with her mana. Charmy manages to reach Lira and punches him. Lira tells Charmy that that was not enough to take him down, which Charmy replies that she is not done yet. As Lira and Charmy continue to fight, Charmy tells Asta and Mimosa to head to the next area while she take care of Lira. Asta and Mimosa agree and head to another room.
At Noelle's location, Noelle continues to battle Fana but none of her spell have any effects on Fana. Fana decides to finish Noelle off, but Fana is suddenly attacked by Jack. As Fana is shocked by the sudden appearance of Jack, Jack expresses how he has finally found a women worthy of ripping apart. Noelle asks why Jack had to be the one to appear, which Jack asks if she has a problem with him.
As Asta and Mimosa arrive at another room, they find Baval laying on the floor. As they wonder who had knocked out Baval, Mimosa notices a faint mana trace in the room that does not feel like it human or elf. Mimosa decides to use her spell to create a layout of the Shadow Palace and finds out where Yuno is and that he is facing three elves.[81] Asta says that they will head to where Yuno is.
The Devil Reborn[]
At Yuno's location, the elves comment how Yuno is here even when they sent others to him. The elves are glad that Yuno arrived here safely and tells him to hand over the Magic Stone. Patolli and Rhya then launch spell at Yuno, but Yuno uses a spell to avoid the spells. As the elves are shocked by this, Yuno takes this chance to attack the elves but they manage to dodge. Rhya notices that Yuno has gotten stronger and that Yuno might even be more powerful then Licht. Suddenly Ronne get close to Yuno and tries to grab him but Yuno manages to get away. Ronne them get close again, which Yuno figures out how Ronne manages to get so close to him without being detected. As Yuno manages to distance himself, but Ronne manages to get the Magic Stone.
As Rhya compliments Ronne about getting the magic stone, which Ronne says that they will now be able to be repaid for everything that has happened until now. Rhya notices that what Ronne had said was a lie and asks who Ronne truly is. Ronne smiles, and manages to wound Rhya. Rhya thinks about how he knew that the human revealing their location was a lye but said nothing because he wanted to see his friends again. Rhya also thinks about how the cost of him lying was a hole in his gut and wonders who truly is the person that put it their. Patolli asks why Ronne did this, which the person reveals that he is the devil within the five-leaf clover. He explains that he was the both between the two chosen by the four-leaf clover to create the grimoire of despair. As he places the magic stone into the pedestal, he explains how he was finally obtain what he desires from hell. As a black mass appears, the person leaves Ronne and enters it. As both Yuno and Patolli notices the cold black mana, Patolli notices that it is the devil.[82] The devil comments about how it feels wonderful to have a body even through it is incomplete. The devil then tells Patolli that he can feel the same despair from Patolli as Licht had that day. Patolli asks what he means, which the devil reveals that he was the one that tricked the humans into destroying the elves. The devil then says that all the elves are fool for carrying out the vengeance that he strung them all on.
Patolli gets angry at the devil and fires a spell at the him, but the devil easily returns the spell back at Patolli. Yuno uses a spell to save both Patolli and Rhya. Patolli is confused, which Yuno tells him that he will not let him do with Captain Vangeance's body as he pleases. As the devil comments about how he planned to deal with Yuno latter, which Yuno replies that he will crush the devil to end it all. Yuno launches a spell at the devil, but the devil easily destroys the spell and says that everything is meaningless be for his Kotodama Magic. Yuno thinks about how he can tell that the devil's magic is terrifying and that he will not be able to defeat him if he was alone. Suddenly Asta and Mimosa arrive, which Yuno says that Asta is late while the devil smiles. Mimosa notices the devil and wonders what it is, while has a feeling that he already knows what it is. The devil decides to ignore them and teleports Patolli to him. Patolli figures out how the devil's magic works and decides to attack, but the devil easily destroys the spell. The devil then pins Patolli in place by spearing him with spears.
Yuno informs Asta that the devil is behind everything and both rush towards the devil. The devil attacks with a rain of blades, Asta and Yuno try to dodge them but have a hard time doing so. The devil manages to pin both of them down and uses his magic to crush them. The devil then says that he will not let anyone interfer like last time. The devil also tells Patolli that he chose him to as his next pawn to achieve his goal, but Patolli replies that it was Licht that reincarnated them as his final hope. The devil explains how Licht never wanted revenge against the humans and that he was the one that reincarnated the elves as his pawns to achieve his desire, which Patolli cry out much to the devil's amusement.[83]
Asta and Yuno get back up and express how not even the likes of the devil will be able to defeat their dream. Rhya and the devil notices that Yuno's magic it weathering down all the physical object around them, while Asta's magic is disintegrating all the magic in the vicinity. Asta and Yuno charge towards the devil, which the devil throws another rain of blades at them. Asta takes care of the magical blades, while Yuno handles the real ones. After getting past the blade, Asta and Yuno express how the devil will have to be destroyed for getting in their way. Asta and Yuno manage to wound the devil but the devil easily heals himself with his magic. The devil comments about how both of them managed to wound him while describing what kind of power each of them have. The Devil also says that he does not know what kind of devil Asta is, but he will hand over that grimoire that should have been his.
Inside one of the pathways, Valtos and Rades are hiding and wonder what is the devil that had been manipulating Patolli all this time. The devil turns his attention to Patolli and explains how the five-leaf clover grimoire is born from the grimoire of a four-leaf clover grimoire that is in despair.[84] As the five-leaf clover is born, the devil says that now has everything he need to enter the real world with all his power. The devil starts to explains how he was not able to obtain what he wanted last time, but this time he set everything up perfectly to get what he wanted. As the devil grabs a hold of the grimoire, he expresses how much fun he had with his plan.
As Asta and Yuno rush towards the devil, The devil turns Patolli into a dark elf and has him battle Asta and Yuno.[85] Patolli uses a spell that manages to push Asta into the wall, while Yuno is wounded by it. As both of them think about how they were able to survive that spell, and that Patolli had gotten even stronger. As the devil head out to another location, the devil thinks about how he might alongside of Asta if he does not steal his body first. Asta thinks about how he cannot let the devil leave, when Patolli appears in front of him. Asta manages to counter Patolli's attack, which Yuno takes this chance to launch a spell at Patolli. Patolli manages to dodge the spell and continue to attack Asta. Asta tells Patolli that he truly believes that they can understand one another, and for Patolli to get out of their way. Patolli get anger at this and start to release his mana, which Asta, Yami, and Nozel all notice. Asta figures out that Patolli is going to launch a powerful spell, while Yuno thinks about how powerful the spell will be. As Patolli launches the spell, Asta along with Yuno work together to reflect the spell away. Suddenly Asta's loses his black form, which Yuno catches Asta and says that Patolli should be low on mana after that spell.
Patolli starts to charge the spell again, much to the shock of Asta and Yuno. As Patolli launches the spell, Nozel suddenly appears and uses his mercury magic to reflect the spell.[86] Nozel then says that he has the best affinity to combat Patolli's magic. As Patolli launches a spell at Nozel, Nozel easily blocks the spell and says that he does not plan to lose. Nozel launches spells at Patolli, but Patolli easily dodges them all. Nozel compliments Patolli on his ability to dodge his spells, but says that his preparation is now complete. As mercury has been spread through the area, Nozel thinks about how it takes time to set up the spell. Nozel casts a spell that trap himself, Asta, Yuno, and Patolli in a cage, which Nozel tells Patolli that this prison will attack him while sealing his magic. As Patolli continues to dodge the prison's attacks, he decides to head towards Nozel. As Patolli launches spell at Nozel, Nozel uses the prison to reflect the spell back at Patolli and defeat him. As Asta and Yuno are amazed by how powerful Nozel is, Nozel tells them that he will be the one to become the next Wizard King.[87]
As Nozel has captured an unconscious Patolli, Rhya thinks about how this is not good as he starts to black out. Suddenly Mimosa starts to heals Rhya, which he asks why she is doing this. Mimosa informs him that she does not need a reason to help someone, which Rhya thinks about how this is the reason why he did not want to get involved in all of this.
Nozel plans to finish Patolli off, but Asta and Yuno stop Nozel and inform him that Asta's sword is capable of freeing Vangeance from Patolli's control. As Asta uses his sword on Patolli, Asta's consciousness is pulled into Patolli's. While being pulled in, Asta sees all of Patolli's memories and what he had been through. As Patolli is going over about everything that has happened, Asta suddenly shows up. Asta then confronts Patolli about how he should not give up because he had just learned the truth. After Asta and Patolli regain conscious, they both agree to work together to defeat the devil.[88]
The Final Floor[]
As the devil arrives at the final floor where the exit is, Licht stands before the devil and says that he will not let him leave. The devil comments about how Licht is not fully awake since his soul is unstable, and that he will reward him by killing him properly. The devil launches a lightning spear at Licht, which Licht easily absorbs the lightning and sends it back. The devil uses his magic to create a shield that blocks the attack. The devil sends a rain of blades at Licht, which Licht manages to counter them. The devil tries to crush Licht, but Licht manages to dodge. The devil manages to bind Licht's sword, and explains how his magic can also create physical objects also.[89]
As the devil launches a spear at the bound Licht, Charla suddenly shows up and diverts the spear. As the devil comments about how there was another elf, which Charla explains how she followed Baval into the Shadow Palace and knew something was wrong when she found Baval unconscious. Suddenly Yami shows up and comments about his disbelief about the devil actually exist. Yami thinks about how he followed one of the stronger mana sources and that the devil is filled with nothing but malice. Charla asks Yami if he came to get in her way, which Yami frees Licht and says that he has a lot of things to asks but first they have to take care of the devil. Charla says that she will leave him dead if he cannot keep up, which Yami replies that Charla should not even think about harming a hair on her body. The devil smiles and creates fire to burns Charl's briar. Yami uses a spell to absorb the fire and launches a spell but the devil manages to dodge it. The devil launch a rain of blades, but Charla manages to block them. The devil uses his magic to wither the briar, which Yami charges at the devil and manages to use a spell that cut off the devil's wing and arm.
At the Clover Castle, mages have managed to heal Finral when Nero starts to peck him. As Finral wonders what Nero wants, Nero tells him to take him to where the demon bones are.[90] As Finral continues to freak out about Nero talking, Nero tells him to stop and that they have to head to the demon bone in order to help the humans that are possessed by the elves.
Inside the Shadow Palace, the devil uses his magic to heal himself and sends swords at Yami. Yami defends against the sword and has Charla uses her Briar magic to get him closer to the devil. Yami and Charla think about how the devil's magic works and decides to test it out.[91] As Yami launches a spell, which the devil dodges it. Yami thinks about how he was right that the devil cannot use his magic against his Dark Magic. Suddenly Licht uses his sword to send the spell back at the devil and magic to cut its tail off. Charla and Yami think about how they are almost on equal footing with the devil and figure out were everyone's mana level's are at. As Yami decides to put pressure on the devil, the devil says that he will start to use his grimoire. The devil uses a spell that creates a creature, which Charla and Yami think about how truly terrifying the devil is. As Yami and Charla attack the creature, it does nothing and the creature attacks. In another room, Mimosa, Nozel, Asta, Yuno, and Patolli notice the terrify mana and wonder what it is.
Tragedy of the Past[]
As Finral and Nero arrives at the demon bones, Nero tells Finral to remove the Magic Stones from the stone tablet. After removing the Magic Stones from the tablet, Nero has Finral bring the stones to the statue on top of the demon bones. As Finral puts all the Magic Stone on the statue, the statue starts to flow with mana which Finral is surprised about.
Inside the Shadow Palace, Yami and Charla dodge the creature's attack which Charla notices that the creature is disintegrating her magic. As the creature is about to attack Charla, Yami saves her with a spell but at the cost of his arm. As Yami thinks about how his mana and life energy was stolen, the devil explains how the creature is capable of stealing the life of everything it touches and that it would stop until is has devoured everything.[92] Yami and Charla are then swallowed by the devil's magic.
Inside the pedestal room, everyone notices that the creature is head towards there room. As the creature reaches the room, Patolli notices that the creature is from the other world and informs the other that it is the devil's mana. Patolli and Yuno launches spells at the creature, but the creature simply devours the magic. As a piece of the creature harms Patolli, he informs the others the he have to run since they cannot touch the creature. As the creature goes to attack Mimosa and Rhya, Asta pushes them away but is engulf by the creature. Asta uses his sword to break free from the creature, which Patolli and Yuno comment about how the creature can be affected by Anti Magic and that the creature will not devour someone with no mana.[93] Mimosa informs the other that the creature is heading to the other rooms, which Nozel thinks about how they will need more mobility if they are going to escape with the others. Nozel says that he and Mimosa will go save the others while Asta, Yuno, and Patolli go face the devil, which they all agree with.
At the Demon Bones, Nero comments about how both seals have not been undone. The statue starts to talk about how he was able to return because of Nero and apologizes for keeping them waiting, which Finral recognizes that the statue is the first Wizard King. Finral is confused by this and looks at Nero, but notices that Nero has transformed into a girl. The Wizard King notices that the devil has obtained a body. As Finral is confused by this, the Wizard King explains how Nero had seal himself within a statue to be awoken while Nero became a bird for 500 years.[94] The Wizard King uses a spell to transport the three of them to the capital. Once they reach the capital, they drop off Finral and tell him that they will return with his friends while they use Nero's magic to head into the Shadow Palace.
As Secre and Lemiel travel to the Shadow Palace, Secre remembers how she had first met Lemiel and how she had learned that he was friends with the elves along with his sister.[95] Secre also remembers how on the day that tetia was to marry Licht, that they were to late to save the elves and Tetia from the devil's plan. Secre then remembers how Licht used a forbidden spell to turn himself into demon in order to counter the devil's plan and that he asked Lemiel to kill him. As Licht heads towards the capital, Lemiel arrived their first and uses his magic to defends it against Licht. As Licht prepares for a powerful spell, Secre arrive with a magic tool that can drain magic. Lemiel uses the magic tool to drain the spell of mana but it destroys the tool. Licht manages to regain some of his senses and asks Lemiel to kill him, which Lemiel does. As Licht was defeated, the devil decides to just take the grimiore this time. Suddenly Secre shows up with the magic stone and uses her magic to seal the devil. The devil then uses the magic stone and a forbidden spell to send him and the elves to the future.[96] As Lemiel arrives, Secre uses her magic to seal Lemiel until the devil reappears. As Secre uses the spell to seal Lemiel, but the spell had caused Secre to be turned into a bird. For the next 500 years, Secre has watched and protected Licht's grimiore until the devil would be re-awoken.
Taking on the Devil[]
As Asta, Yuno, Patolli, Lemiel, and Secre arrive at the final floor of the Shadow Palace, the devil is amused about how he did not see this coming. Inside of the devil's magic, Yami and Charla have survived thanks to Charla's magic. Yami and Charla comments about the situation they are in, when Yami wonders about Licht. As Asta, Yuno, and Patolli is shocked that the first Wizard King, Lemiel, is here, which Asta notices that they is something familiar with Secre. As Lemiel wonders who they are, Secre says that they are the Magic Knights from this era. Lemiel and Secre then head over to Licht, and Secre uses her magic to fully unbound his soul. Licht fully wakes up and finally thanks Lemiel for what he had did 500 years ago, while the devil express how excited he is that he will finally be able to finish both of them off. Lemiel, Licht, and Secre then head over to Asta, Yuno, and Patolli, were Licht talks with Patolli. Licht tells Patolli what really happened 500 years ago, and then says that Patolli gave everything for their people even through he had committed unforgivable crimes.[97] Licht then hugs Patolli and says that Patolli gave everything for there people, which causes Patolli to cry.
Licht, Lemiel, and Secre then turn to the devil and say that they will settle everything now, which the devil responds that everything will be over once his magic swallows all they them. As the devil attacks, Lemiel and Licht each use a spell that destroys the devil's magic. As the devil thinks about Licht and Lemiel, Licht and Lemiel continuously at the devil but the devil manages to dodge all their attacks. While Asta and Yuno are amazed by how powerful the two are, Lemiel manages to land a blow on the devil. The devil counters by uses a spell to create a spear that shatters Lemiel spell along with cutting his arm off. The devil then expresses how they cannot defeat him since he now has the grimiore and a body. Suddenly Asta shows up and attacks the devil's spear with his Anti Magic sword. The devil thinks about how his spear is able to disintegrates anything is touches but was stop by Asta's sword. The devil pushes Asta back and attacks with a spell, which Asta defends himself along with the help of Lemiel and Licht. Secre then uses her magic to heal Lemiel's arm. As the devil says how useless their magic is against him, Secre tells him how he will now be crushed by those who he stepped on.
The devil then taunts them about how if they does not finish this soon, then their allies on the lower floor will end up dead. Licht then starts to collect all the mana from the elves. Once Licht is done collecting the mana, he unleashes the power spell on the devil. Once the spell is done, they all notices that everything but the devil's heart is gone. The devil then uses a spell to restore his body, and taunts them about how they are incapable of killing him. Asta thinks about how powerful Licht's sword is, and starts to release his Anti Magic in order to use 100% of what his sword is capable of.[98]
At another place in the Shadow Palace, Gueldre and Revchi wonder what it happening above them. They then thinks about how they have to find the exit to the Shadow Palace before Gueldre's mana runs out. At another location, Yami and Charla are freed from the creature because of Licht's spell. Yami thanks Charla for healing his arm, and thinks that he will be able to use his dimension slash one more time. Yami also thinks about how he has to get back up their, since his dark magic is capable of working against the devil. Yami then thinks about how he can finish the devil off with just one well placed strike and that the only other one that is capable of doing that is Asta.[99]
Back at the top floor, Asta releases a massive amount of Anti Magic but cannot control it and flies towards the devil. The devil tries to defends himself with his spear but Asta easily breaks the spear. The devil then uses a spell to attack Asta with, but Lemiel comes to Asta's rescue but is suddenly attacked by Asta. The others try to defends against the devil's spell, but they hardly do anything. Patolli thinks about the situation they are in and manages to destroy some other the devil's creature with his Demon Light Magic. Secre goes to check on Lemiel and wonder if she help out Asta with her magic, which Lemiel tells her that Asta does not need her help. Yuno tells Asta that he is falling behind in becoming the Wizard King, while managing to use all the mana in the air to create a sword that can harm the devil's creature. After hearing this, Asta uses his Anti Magic to upgrade his his Demon-Slayer Sword.
Lemiel is amazed at what Yuno had done but wonders who Asta is, which Secre says that Asta is someone that was born without Mana but has worked harder than anyone else in this kingdom.[100] Asta and Yuno easily manage to take on the creature, which the devil compliments their strong but they will not reach him with their speed. Yuno uses his magic to push Asta towards the devil, who manages to pierce the devil with his sword. Suddenly multiple mouths appear on the devil and he starts to insult them. The devil forces Asta back and summons more of the creature. Patolli becomes worried about the ones at the bottom of the Shadow Palace, which Lemiel and Licht tells Patolli that they are going to leave this area to him since they are going to protect the ones on the lower floor. As the devil says that he is going to kill them all, Asta and Yuno brush off what he says and prepare to take the devil down. As Secre watches, she thinks about how she got close to Asta in order to use him but after watching all that he was done decides to support him and tells Asta to win.
The devil has his creature attack Asta and Yuno, which the two easily counter the attack. Yuno thinks about how Asta's Anti Magic is capable of killing the devil, which suddenly Asta feels a pain all over his body and thinks about how his body is reaching his limit. Lemiel sees Asta and Yuno and think about how they will have to leave the devil to them, since they will save their friends. On a lower room, Jack and Noelle continue to fight against Fana when the creature enters the room. Before the creature can swallow Fana, Nozel and Mimosa show up and save Fana. Nozel and Mimosa tells then that they have to escape immediately, but Mereoleona shows up and start to attack the creature. Charmy and Fuegoleon also encounter the creature and notice that the creature is bad news. Lemiel and Licht thinks about what their magic is capable of, and use a spell to protect all the elves and humans from the creature. Rhya notices that the mana allows him to sees what is happening from above and comments about how he is jealous of Lemiel and Licht's reunion. As the creature goes to attack Lemiel and Licht, Patolli uses a spell to protect them. As the creature goes to attack Asta, Yuno comes to his rescue and tells him to finish the devil off already which Asta says that he will. The devil tells the two that this will be their end and has his creature attack with a larger attack. On a lower floor, Yami asks Charla for the devil's location which Charla decides to help him. Yami, Asta, and Yuno prepare to attack, while thinking that they will settle this in one blow.[101]
Secre continues to watch the fight, and thinks about how she had thought that Asta would never be like Lemiel. As the creature goes to attacks Asta, but Yuno saves him while thinking about how the light that surrounds him is brimming with energy. Yuno then wonders if Asta is reaching his limit, which Yuno tells Asta that he will leave him behind and heads towards the devil. Asta gets excited and follows after Yuno. The devil sees this and thinks about how neither of the two are currently able to cut through his heart. The devil notices that Asta is behind him, and realize how Asta was able to get behind him. Asta and Yuno manages to cut into the devil, which the devil tries to force them away.[102] Suddenly Asta form gives way, which the devil forces Yuno away from him and taunts Asta. On a lower floor, Charla thinks about how Yami will not be able to reach the devil with his spell while Yami thinks about when Julius had promoted him to a captain. Yami launches his spell and manages to cut the devil in half. As the devil is confused about how this has happened, Secre uses this chance to heal Asta. The devil sees this and goes to attack, but Yuno stops him. Asta activate his black form and manages to cut the devil in half.
As the devil says that this is impossible, the devil in Asta suddenly appears before the devil and greets the devil. As the devil wonder who the other devil is, the devil in Asta says that that does not matter since the devil is going to disappear for losing. The devil in Asta bids the devil farewell, which the devil disappears.[103] Licht, Lemiel, Patolli, and Secre see this, which after remembering the past Secre thanks Asta and Yuno for what they did. On a lower floor, Yami and Charla comment about how the devil has been defeated while also introducing themselves to each other.
Suddenly they notices that the devil's magic is not disappearing and that the Shadow Palace is falling apart. They realize that they have to rescue the one on the lower floors, which Lemiel says that he can do it but his body has reach its limit. One the lower floors, Charmy and Fuegoleon notice that the light surrounding them is getting weaker and are starting to feel the effect of the creature. Fana tells her group that she found out the situation through the link with Licht, and that they to reach the top floor to get out of the Shadow Palace. Yami thinks about how this is bad, when he suddenly notices a presence.
On the top floor, Lemiel's body reaches its limit and the light disappears. Asta becomes worried about the others, when everyone, buy Yami and Charla, appear through a portal. Rades and Valtos also appear from the portal, which Valtos explains how this is the first step for atonement of his sins. Patolli hears this and thinks about how there is still more left to do. Suddenly Yami and Charla appear from the creature, along with Gueldre and Revchi. Since everyone has arrived, they decide to leave the Shadow Palace.
Rebuilding the Kingdom[]
Once they all arrive at the kingdom, they notices that the elves are still rampaging and they have to stop them. As they discuss how to stop the elves, Patolli informs them that Licht and William's magic will be able to take care of that. After Valtos gives William's grimoire to Patolli, Patolli tells Asta to use his Demon-Destroyer Sword on him. Patolli then bids everyone goodbye, as Asta undoes the reincarnation spell on Patolli and awakens William. Once William is awake, he notices that Patolli has past on and realizes what he has to do. William and Licht then use their magics to connect to all the rampaging elves. Once they have reached all the elves, they have Asta use his sword to undo the magic on the elves. As the elves start to pass on, they each bid farewell to the humans that they have met and fought with.[104] Rades does not like this and uses his magic to put Patolli in the body that Licht was using.[105] As the others are shocked by this, Rades tells Patolli that he will be the one to kill him and leaves with Valtos. William then greets Patolli and expresses how glad he is that he can finally meet with Patolli. After telling this to Patolli, William asks Yami to take him to Julius which Yami agrees with.
While the other Magic Knights are helping the citizens, Mimosa heals Asta while Noelle comments about how he had pushed himself to much again. Lemiel and Secre are there too, which Mimosa and Noelle wonder who they are. Asta reveals that Lemiel is the first Wizard King and that Secre is Nero. While Mimosa and Noelle are shocked by this, Lemiel comments about how he is glad that his ideas have pasted on to Asta and Yuno. Suddenly Lemiel's body starts to fall apart, which Lemiel says that his time is up. Lemiel asks Secre to help guide the Magic Knights while also expressing how he is grateful for what she had done for him. As Lemiel crumbles away, Secre tells Lemiel how happy she was to have served him.[106]
Yami and William arrive at the site that Julius's body was buried, but find out that there is only an empty hole. Suddenly they notices a presence behind them and look. Suddenly Julius appears before the two, in a younger body, and apologizes to the two since his magic took longer to activate then he had thought.[107] Yami starts to complain to Julius about how he had mourned Julius's death and his determination to avenge Julius, but says that he is glad that he can see Julius again. Julius then tells William that he has a lot to atone for since he had betrayed the kingdom. Yami wonder why Julius is being lenient with William, which Julius says that he is responsible for inviting William to the Magic Knights and even made him a captain. Julius then asks if William will join him in helping the kingdom, which William agrees to join him.[108]
Trial of the Devils[]
Later Julius is with Yami at the Clover Castle, and has called Asta, Secre, Noelle, and Mimosa to them. Julius tells the four that even through the battle is over, that there are still three problems. Julius says that the Wizard King is gone, which Yami says that Julius is still alive in front of them. Julius explains how he has lost most of his magical power, along with his influence with the nobles has also weakened. Asta asks why Julius is so young, which Julius explains how he found an artifact that is capable of storing magic and used its magic to store magic in the mark that was on his forehead. Suddenly Julius notices Secre and starts to ask her about what her magic is, which Yami pulls him away from Secre and everyone accepts that the young Julius is the Wizard King. Yami tells Julius to continue his story, which Julius informs the others the Clover Kingdom will be destroy by a foreign nation which shocks the others. Julius final says that the final problem is that Asta will die,[109] which Asta wonders why he will die. Julius explains how Asta's power comes from a devil, and how the horns that Asta obtains in his black form is the sign of a curse called Weg. Julius explains how the curse is from someone using the power from the realm of the devils, which Secre explains how she obtained be horns from using a forbidden spell and now she is able to transform into a bird at will now.
Julius gets excited about Secre's magic, but Asta asks him to continue with his explaining his reasoning. Julius apologizes and says that there are currently three countries that surround the Clover Kingdom. The first is the militant nation, Diamond Kingdom, that has a powerful army because of their scholars of sorcery, black magic, and human experimentation. Next is the neutral nation, Heart Kingdom, which they have adapted to their rich natural land to have mastered their own unique style of magic. The last is the demon nation, Spade Kingdom, which they have achieved supremacy by serving the ancient horror that slumbers within the extreme cold of their massive land. Julius also explains how the Spade Kingdom has expanded their influence the Grand Magic Zone, to their kingdom. Julius then explains how their own Magic Knights are currently exhausted and that some of them have turned against them while they were possessed by the elves. Asta says that it was all the devil's fault, which Julius explains how the Magic Parliament will condemn the devil's power and make Asta the scapegoat since he uses the power of a devil. Asta wonders who will run the Magic Parliament, which Julius says that the royal house of Kira is in charge of that.
At another part of the royal castle, Augustus is complimenting Sekke for protecting him which Sekke things about how it was all just a coincidence. Sekke decides to bluff his power, when four mages suddenly appeared and proclaim that they will kill Augustus. The four go to attack Sekke and Augustus, which Augustus tells Sekke to protect him but Sekke thinks about how he is almost out of mana. Suddenly someone uses their magic to shrink the mages spells, which the mages wonder what has happened. The mage says that four are evil and uses his magic to force them to kneel. The mages asks if the king is alright, which Augustus says that he is not alright while calling the mage Damnatio. Suddenly Damnatio get a reaction, and says that he will judge the one that is possessed by a devil.[110]
Days later, Asta and Secre arrive at the courthouse to testify to the Magic Parliament but are handcuffed once they enter the building. As Asta and Secre are brought to the Magic Parliament, Damnatio introduces himself as the chairman of the Parliament along also announcing how they are here for pass judgement on Asta for his crimes. Damnatio informs the Parliament who Asta and Secre are and how they claim how the conflict within the kingdom was the doing of the devil. Asta says that that is all correct, but the Parliament does not believe him. Damnatio then tells Asta that there is only two outcomes to this trial and that Asta is so easy to manipulate that he will be the one to take all the blame. As Asta says that its was all the devil's doing, but Damnatio replies that there was a devil and that they will have to just judge everyone. Damnatio has Marie brought in and explains her reasoning in attacking the kingdom. Damnatio then has the guards attack Marie, but Asta breaks free and rescues her. Asta tells them that he does not acknowledge their sense of justice, which Damnatio replies that they will never see eye-to-eye with a devil.[111]
At Nairn, Theresa and Neige are wondering what happened to Marie when Rebecca shows up to show them a newspaper article about Asta. At Hage, Lily and the orphans are reading the article about Asta while the father is panicking about it. At another location, Gueldre and Revchi are laughing about how Asta is now a criminal. Sally wonders if Asta will be joining them in reconstructing the city, which Rades tells her that he does not know. Rades then wonder why he is doing this kind of work, which Valtos replies that he does not know since Rades decided to tag along even though he wanted to atone for his sins. Jack send a spell at them and tells them to get back to work, which Geuldre complains how Jack had almost hit them. At another location, Mimosa and Klaus notices that article about Asta and wonder if the Parliament plans on having Asta take all of the blame. Mimosa comments about how Damnatio has once judged his own father and how he is the scale of justice for the kingdom, which Klaus comments about what would happen if they went against the Parliament.
At the courthouse, Asta tells the Parliament that he is in complete control of his power but the Parliament does not listen to him and just want Asta to be kill before he brings a disaster to the kingdom. Damnatio tells Asta to except his fate and explains what would happen if he manages to escape. Suddenly the Black Bulls burst through the wall and start to explain what kind of a person Asta is and how they will be taking him back. Damnatio tells the Black Bulls what would happen to their reputation if they help Asta, which Yami informs him that their squad is the worst of the worst. Yami also says that Asta and Secre are a member of their squad and that if they plan to harm them, then they will just have to come after them.[112] Secre tells the Black Bulls to leave her and take Asta away, which the Black Bulls tells her that she too is a member of the Black Bulls while Yami puts a robe on Secre. Damnatio explains to the Black Bulls how they cannot help Asta and Secre, and uses his magic to disrupt the Black Bulls spells. Asta counters Damnatio's spell by using his magic to erase the effect of Damnatio's spell. Yami goes to attack Damnatio but Nozel and Fuegoleon Vermillion suddenly show up and block Yami's attack.
As everyone wonders why the two have arrived, Fuegoleon tells them that they have come to deliver a mission from the Julius. Fuegoleon explains how Asta and the Black Bulls are to investigate the devil, outside of the kingdom. Asta is confused about what is happening, which Yami tells him that they are going to take a trip out of the kingdom to prove his innocence.[113] As the Parliament discuss the mission that Julius have issued, Damnatio informs Asta that the scales may have tipped in his favor but he will have Asta executed own the scales tip in the opposite directions.
After the Trial[]
Once the trials have finished, Damnatio meets with Julius. Julius and Damnatio then discuss about the mission that Julius had given the Black Bulls and what would happen if they failed. Julius tells Damnatio that he has faith that they will succeed, and that one day he is sure that Damnatio's scales will lean in favor of Asta and his friends. Damnatio tells Julius that there are currently more important things for him to do, but he will judge Julius, along with Asta, if the kingdom should tip in the scales. Damnatio then leaves, which Marx suddenly rushes into the room. Marx is shocked by Julius's appearance, but expresses how glad he is that Julius is alive.[114]
Love and Curses[]
At another location, Sol meets with Charlotte and informs her what Yami had done for them. As Charlotte thinks about how memories she has when she was possessed, when Sol tells her that Yami has arrived. As Charlotte is worried about Yami being there and wants Sol to kick him out, Sol says that she will let him stay this once since he had helped them out. Yami then asks about how she is doing, but then starts to asks about when she was possessed by that magic. Charlotte panics and runs out of the room, out of the building, and then across a river. As Yami watches as Charlotte runs away, Yami comments about how he wanted to asks if she had any leads on the forbidden magic that had affected her when she was young.[115]
After running away, Charlotte stops and sits on a roof top. Charlotte contemplates how she cannot just confess her feelings about Yami. After thinking for a little bit, Charlotte stands up with a resolve. Later Charlotte meets with the rest of her squad, and informs them that she will resign from her position as captain since she has fallen in love with Yami. The squad start to cheer for Charlotte, much to the shock of both Charlotte and Sol. Suddenly Yami and Asta show up, much to the shock and excitement of the Blue Rose squad. The Blue Rose members quickly push Charlotte to Yami, so that she can confess to Yami but all Charlotte does is mumble. Yami tells Charlotte that he already knows that Charlotte hates him, but Asta intervenes and says that he does not think that Charlotte hates Yami. Yami gets angry at Asta for butting in, which Asta explains how Charlotte truly trusts Yami but its hard for her to express how she truly feels. After listening to Asta, Charlotte thanks Asta, while also apologizing to him for what had happened, and then asks Yami to dinner for discuss what he wanted to talk about.
Later Yami and Charlotte are having dinner at a restaurant, which they discuss about that curse that Charlotte had been put on her. Charlotte explains how the curse was put on her by mages that had a grudge against her family. Charlotte also says that the curse might be from a Forbidden Magic, and how there is someone in the Black Bulls that is experiencing a stronger Forbidden Magic curse than hers.[116]
Elsewhere Dorothy is helping fix the city, when Noelle shows up and asks about her mother and the devils. Dorothy leaves the rest of the clean up work to her squad, and takes Noelle into her Glamour World spell. After messing with Noelle for a second, Dorothy tells Noelle that her mother Acier was killed by a curse that was cast by a devil. Dorothy also explains how the devil was summoned and that the devil's name is Megicula.[117]
Later, Yami has Asta, Gauche, and Grey accompany Gordon to gain some information about curses from his family. As the four reach the Gordon's family home, Asta, Gauche, and Grey are shocked that they all look similar to Gordon. Gordon's family invites them to have dinner, to which the four agree. As they are having dinner, Asta, Gauche, and Grey have an awkward with Gordon's family. Once Gordon's mother, sister, and grandmother leave, Gordon explains to his father how he wants to help out his friends which his father agrees to it.
Gordon's father, Nathan, brings them to the room that their family has been researching everything about curses. Nathan also explains how he has waited for Gordon to return, because Gordon's magic and talent make him worthy of inheriting of take over the family research. Gordon tells his father that he will not return to the family and says that he just wants to help his friends. Nathan tells Gordon about all the ways that humans can die and that he will teach Gordon all of it, which Gordon wonders what life means to his father. Nathan says that Gordon must experience it for himself and manages to stab Asta. Asta notices that nothing has happened, Nathan explains what he had learned about Asta when he had stabbed him. Nathan then explains how he has converted their family's teachings into helping cure people, but he cannot help Asta when his arms were broken since he had just starts to converse their family's knowledge. The four are shocked that Gordon's father is a healing mage.
Nathan tells the others that he understand their situation and that he will help them. Nathan uses a spell that reveals all the location were the curses in the kingdom are located. Asta, Gordon, Gauche, and Grey notice that a powerful curse is located at their base, which they figure that Henry is the one with the curse. They also notice that a powerful curse is located within the Heart Kingdom.[118]
The Heart Kingdom[]
Yami informs his squad that they cannot infiltrate the Heart Kingdom, because of the kingdom's trap magic that is at their borders. Noelle tells Yami that Mimosa had been to the Heart Kingdom and that they are currently studying there too, which Yami tells Finral to get on it. Finral is glad that he will have a chance to see his brother at the Golden Dawn headquarters.
At the Golden Dawn's headquarters, Langris is with Finesse and is being informed about everything that is happening. FInral shows up with a gift, which Langris explains how he does not deserve any of this for what he had done. Finral says that is was not Langris's fault, but Langris that he was still saved by his brother and that he had even heard what his brother's squad did at the trail. Finral then tells Langris that he work hard to be acknowledged as worthy of leading the house of Vaude, and that he will make Finesse happy. Finral apologizes to Finesse for making her wait for him and that he swears that he will become a worthy man for her, which Finesse tells Finral to not be long. Langris brings Finral out of the room to talk with him in private. Once they get outside, Langris starts to say that Finral would be able to make Finesse happy when suddenly two members of the Golden Dawn comes across the two. Finral sees that they are women and invites them out for tea, which Langris yells at Finral about how Finral is cursed to be a womanizer and can never make Finesse happy. Finral realizes what Langris had yelled at him about, while Langris walks away and comments about how he will not let his brother find his happiness so easily.
Elsewhere at the Golden Dawn headquarters, Asta and Noelle meet with Mimosa about her time in the Heart Kingdom. Mimosa tells the two that she had studied aboard with her brother in the Heart Kingdom, and explains everything she had experienced while there. Mimosa also explains how power the princess of the Heart Kingdom is and that she sees everything that happens within her kingdom. Mimosa then tells the two that she will help them out by handling the applications to enter the Heart Kingdom, which they thank her for.
Sometime later, Asta, Mimosa, Noelle, and Finral are all heading towards the Heart Kingdom on a boat. As the boat enter through a fog, Mimosa explains that only those that have permission from the Heart Kingdom may enter the Heart kingdom. As the boat exits the fog, Asta, Noelle, and Finral are amazed as they witness the Heart kingdom. At another location, the princess notices that Clover Kingdom's power of the devil has arrived and comments about how she must have that power.[119]
As Finral and the others wonder were they should dock, a mage from the Heart Kingdom named Gadjah greets them and tells them to just continue on. As they wonder were they can go since they have reach an end to the river, a staircase suddenly appears and the boat continues on. As they are amazed by this, Gadjah reveals to them that the mist barrier and rivers are all controlled by their princess's mana zone. Gadjah also explains how since the beginning of their kingdom's founding, their rulers have pledged their devotion to the water spirit in order to borrowing the spirit's power. Noelle comments about how one princess is capable of protecting a country this massive, which Gadjah says that the princess is capable of for now but the future remains uncertain.
Suddenly Asta is surrounding by water and taken off the boat. As Noelle and Mimosa wonder what is going on, Gadjah tells them that they need something for the sake of their own peace. Mimosa, Noelle, and Finral jump off the boat, and use Finral's magic to get closer to Asta. When Gadjah manages to catch up to Finral, Noelle uses a spell to block Gadjah from harming Finral, which Finral then uses his magic to get away. They notice that Gadjah is not using magic to float, and prepare to battle him. Gadjah also decides to face them, which Noelle wonders what kind of magic that Gadjah is using. At another location, Asta is transported to a large hole. When Asta reaches the bottom the hole, he is greeted by the princess and is told that she requires his devil for the sake of her country.[120]
As Gadjah prepares to attack, Noelle notices that Gadjah uses lightning magic but wonders about the runes that surround Gadjah. Gadjah launches a spell at Noelle, but Noelle is about to dodge it because of her valkyria dress. Gadjah has his spell change direction and chase Noelle, but FInral uses his Spatial Magic to block the spell. Mimosa also attacks with a spell but misses Gadjah. Mimosa then tells Gadjah to return Asta or they will be forced to fight him. Gadjah thinks about how Mimosa has gotten stronger and how Finral uses his magic. Gadjah tells them that he will show them the difference in their stages and sends that runes around him into the sky. A thundercloud appears in the sky, which Noelle notices that this is bad. Gadjah tells them that humans cannot compare to the abudant massive mana of nature.
At Asta's location, Asta enters his black form in order to face off against multiple waters that are shaped like female swordsmen. Asta then uses his Black Hurricane spell to take out all of his opponents. Suddenly a figure appears with a large amount of water and how Asta's power of negation would be incredibly useful but quite unpleasant. The figure then introduces themselves as one of the four great elemental spirits, Undine, and that she has form a pact with the princess of the Heart Kingdom. Undine traps Asta within her waters, and proclaims that Asta is far beneath a Ninth Stage. Asta wonders what that Ninth Stage means, which Undine explains how they use a system to measure a person's magical abilities. Undine then chains Asta up under the water, and proclaims that the highest rank is Stage Zero.
At Gadjah's location, Gadjah uses the thundercloud to launch a spell at Noelle, Mimosa, and Finral. After the spell hits, Gadjah thinks about how he cannot sense their mana and how the three might have escaped by using Finral's Spatial Magic. While a portal appears behind Gadjah, Secre reaches Asta and transforms back to a human. Secre says that their power cannot be measured by talent alone, and uses a spell to release Asta. While Undine notices Secre's magic, Gadjah manages to locate were Noelle, Mimosa, and Finral are at. At another location, Mimosa uses a spell to pinpoint were Gadjah is and tells Finral were Gadjah is at. Noelle then fires a spell through Finral's portal and manages to hit Gadjah, while proclaiming that she will not back down before she show what she can do.
At Asta's location, Asta thinks about how he need to control his Anti Magic in order to keep his body from being dragged away. Asta notices that there is a person behind a curtain of water, and that there must be air in there too. Asta then cuts through the curtain, much to the shock of Undine.[121] Once inside the curtain, Asta sees that there is a statue sitting in the chair but thinks about how he had sensed someone before. Suddenly Asta notices someone on a fluffy rug and approaches them. Undine pulls Asta away from the person, and asks the person, Lolopechka, what they are doing. Suddenly Asta and Secre notices that Lolopechka is the princess of the Heart Kingdom.
Elsewhere, Gadjah manages to defends himself against Noelle's spell and thinks about how strong the three are as they work together. Gadjah then manages to find out were the three are and heads out to were they are. Once Gadjah reaches the three, he apologizes for forcing them in a battle to test their magic stage.
Back at Asta location, Lolopechka explains to Asta and Secre how the magic stages work and how fighting a devil requires a of First Stage or greater mage. After hearing about the devil, Asta informs Lolopechka that they came to the Heart Kingdom because they is a powerful curse that may belong to a devil. Undine thinks about how only Gadjah should know about that information and how they have to keep it a secret, but Lolopechka reveals that she is the one that is cursed and that she may one have about a year to live. Undine tells Lolopechka that they were keeping that a secret, but then tells Asta that that is the reason that is why they brought him here to test his magic stage. Undine and Lolopechka says that they want Asta to defeat the devil Megicula since both the Clover Kingdom and Heart Kingdom suffer from the that devil.
Suddenly Lolopechka says that she had forgotten to do something and runs off, much to the surprise to both Asta and Secre. Lolopechka then uses her magic to do multiple tasks around the Heart Kingdom, which Secre notices how well she is about to control her magic around the kingdom. Undine forces Lolopechka to change into her royal clothes, and explains how Lolopechka is an irreplaceable existence to the kingdom. Undine also says that the devil, Megicula, currently resides within that land.
In the Diamond Kingdom, Magna, Luck and Vanessa head into the Diamond Kingdom to scout it out but finds out that a single mage has defeated most of the Diamond Kingdom's soldiers. Vanessa tells Luck to not try and fight with the mage, but Luck replies that he truly does not want to fight him.[122]
At the Heart Kingdom, Noelle, Mimosa, Finral, and Gadjah arrive at the building and are greeted by Asta and Lolopechka. As Mimosa, Noelle, and Finral are amazed about how beautiful the princess is, Finral says that he has to change. Lolopechka asks Mimosa, Noelle, Finral, and Asta that they need their strength, which they wonder why they need their strength. Lolopechka explains how a devil are stronger then Stage Zero mages, and how the Clover Kingdom has been able to develop their own magic that is different from the Heart Kingdom. Lolopechka also explains how people like Asta and Secre, who command unique type of magic, cannot be measured by the magic stage system are called Arcane Stage. Lolopechka tells them that if they help them, then they will share information with them. Noelle says that they have to first asks their superiors and contacts Yami, but he tells them to not bother him since he is in the bathroom. Mimosa says that she figured something like this would happen and decides to contact Marx. After getting in contact with Marx and explains the situation, Julius over hears this and agrees to it.
Asta asks how powerful the devil is, which Lolopechka says that it is most powerful then the devil that Asta faced against. Asta thinks about how he were only able to defeat the devil because they had Lemiel and Licht with them. Lolopechka explains how the devil, Megicula, has made the Spade Kingdom its home, so that it can accumulate enough power to invade the Heart, Clover, and Diamond Kingdoms. Lolopechka says that she wants to attack the Spade Kingdom within six months, and that the Hearts Kingdom's five Stage Zero mages will help train people in order to accomplish that. They all agrees to this, as others also prepare for this.[123]
Six-Month Training[]
Following the meeting with Lolpechka, Julius requests that Marx gather all of the Magic Knight Squad Captains so they can discuss what they are to do against the Spade Kingdom. Back at the Black Bull's Hideout, Asta and the others return from the Heart Kingdom, where they tell Yami what they learnt while there. While they are discussing things, Magna, Luck, and Vanessa reveal what they witnessed the Dark Triad do while they were in the Diamond Kingdom, and how Luck was too afraid to even want to fight the person that they saw.[124]
The next day, in the capital, all of the Squad Captains, and Owen disguised as Julius to keep the fact that he has been turned into a kid hidden from the people of the Clover Kingdom hidden, make an appearance to show that even after everything that has occurred, they are still standing strong. William Vangeance says that the Wizard King is unable to speak due to the a sore throat, soon gives the an introduction to Augustus Kira Clover XIII, with Seke being his servant. When the Augustus comes out, the people are not very frilled to see him. He attempts to make a speech, but it gets interrupted by Yami and Jack fighting each other, who do not even realize what is going on.[125]
